They announced a Canadian election last week and we vote in October - something like a 36 day campaign.

Obama&McCain, Democrats&Republicans get schooled:

Code: Select all

Obama likes copypasta:
http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog/?p=517#comments

"McBama" ~ lulzy ~ Description of Obama:
Quote:
“It has always been the task of the new generation to provoke changes. But the characteristic feature of the youth movement was that they had neither new ideas nor plans. They called their action the youth movement precisely because they lacked any program which they could use to give a name to their endeavors. In fact they espoused entirely the program of their parents. They did not oppose the trend toward government omnipotence and bureaucratization. Their revolutionary radicalism was nothing but the impudence of the years between boyhood and manhood; it was a phenomenon of a protracted puberty. It was void of any ideological content.”

Yes, there is moar:
Quote:
What Obama supporters have found out about over the past year is that Obama uses Ron Paulish key words to “Rick Roll” them into something they actually don’t want from government - Obama has very much used the ‘key word’ method in his rallies, in his interviews and on his campaign website … but, upon close inspection, it’s becoming more and more clear to Obama supporters that the words he says to one group are often in conflict with what he says to other groups. They are also finding out about his votes, and after numerous times of his vote not matching his rhetoric, they are bailing ship - and this is happening at a pretty incredible rate since the FISA vote. Even Clinton voted against it - Obama is having a harder and harder time getting his former supporters back with excuses and reasons for his vote.

Voters this time around are being a bit more cautious and hesitant - the Democrats already got manipulated 2 years ago into voting for candidates who campaigned to do one thing and then voted the exact opposite way when push came to shove - if you look at the approval ratings of the numerous Democrats that took high offices nationally, you’ll find their ratings are very, very low - including the Democrat-majority congress, which has an approval rating lower than even President George Bush. That speaks volumes about what is happening, and it should give us much hope that November will hold many surprises on election day.

Quote:
It could never happen. The people who support Obama expect his campaign and the government to take care of everything.

Quote:
It’s hard to believe Obama’s proposal to “change” America into a socialist euro-clone hasn’t been met with an outpouring of grass roots support and innovation! Maybe if he hired some Ron Paul supporters to reject everything they stand for he could turn things around.
(sarcasm)

Quote:
Obama stands for government intervention in EVERY aspect of our lives. How do you take a group of folks that want to do the least possible in life, while their neighbors make up the difference, and inspire them to actively pursue anything?

Quote:
The American people are–and will continue to be–caught in the midst of a churning tidal wave of economic upheaval, due to the massive and inexcusable failures of big government’s well-paid, so-called administrators. Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns, Fannie, Freddie, et al. This issue–an intended Constitutional republic being governed as a massive welfare apparatus from top to bottom–is the number one issue that will affect, and is affecting, the everyday quality of life for most Americans. Neither “major party” candidate has taken any great effort to address this issue (and it is a cohesive issue, even if it appears only as isolated glimmers of trivial headline in the news media) and their proposed solutions for it, as far as I can tell.

Ron Paul ‘08.

Quote:
Obama could never be Ron Paul. None of his platitudes or ideals are real to me. He speaks of a change into a socialist country. He’s a powerful speaker that’s all I see. He wants to destroy the constitution. He can try to organize or use the internet like Ron Paul but i dont think us true Ron Paul believers will ever switch to a person that is more of the same. I heard a funny quote “Obama’s fantasy world is a world of unicorn factories and strawberrry scented welfare checks.” I’m a huge dreamer but a realist when it comes to morals and politics.

Ron Paul supporters are true patriots and intellectuals.

Quote:
The only thing holding up our economy is the fact that other governments around the world are just as incompetent as ours. Sad, but true.

What people don't get about the Republican party's ability to "protect" the US is that:(And I hint, in a bold way)

9/11 happened under a REPUBLICAN president, while congress consisted mainly of REPUBLICANS!

People should really start comparing what the Republican presidents have done for our country, and what the democratic ones have done.

Likewise: Iraq was approved under a democrat congress, the patriot act was initiated and renewed, a policy of preemptive war was adopted, plan of an invasion of Iran was approved, and the president has been granted the ability to declare martial law if Osama were to sneeze. All under a democratic congress. The neocons and the democratic party are both factions of war. There is no longer a defining line and neither side professes freedom.

1&2]One would be hard pressed to find a President of either party without faults; however, each party has had a few notable Presidents.

its the party system that makes our elections seem so long...the candidates have just now been announced when you think about it...everything up until now has been a show. Also i completely agree that we could definitely do without the party system.

actually they arent. basically the districts elect the officials who cast the electoral college votes, so they vote in their party members. the party members 99.999999999999999999999999999999999% of the time vote for their party's presidential candidate, but they have no obligation whatsoever to vote for him/her.

Pathetic. Has it really gone that far? Is that the only way to campaign? By trying to bring down the opposition? Why can't the candidates simply state the issues, give realistic solutions, and be done with it. Their supporters see this and copy that behavior. Love, you're a prime example. Always bringing down Palin and calling McCain supporters idiots. Is that how you get people to support your candidate? By making the other candidate look worse? "Oh, vote for so&so because he isn't as bad as that one guy."

So serious question: What are the issues you consider important and how does Obama plan to deal with them? Does his voting record support his rhetoric? What is this "change?" People want change but do they know what the change is? What kind of change do you expect from the Obama Administration?

Uh, its been that way for a while. Haven't you seen any of the campaign commercials? Each one on either side is just a childish cheap shot at the other. It's not what you'll do for the country, it's what the other guy can't do for the country. And when you look at it that way, each party has plenty to list..

The worst part is that neither side realizes that campaigning like that doesn't help their cause. It is like two children in a sand box fighting over a toy. I expect that much from McBama but one would think that their supporters would be willing to take breather and see the truth. This country is in desperate need of a Party realignment.

The sad thing is that the Democratic party is too "nice". They won't get as down n' dirty as the Republicans.

Republicans know the deal: Most Americans don't give a hoot about the issues, and respond to drama and controversy more than anything.

oh wow dude where are you from or where have you being, the only thing the McCain campaign is doing and has being doing since day 1 is bashing Obama for the most ridiculous reasons in the world and im not the democrat party i am just one person and my behavior calling on Palin and the Vietnam vet is partially couse the democrat party doesnt do this at all as oppose to their rivals. Celebrity any1? being accepted/liked by every1 for being black? inexperience ? rdy to lead on day 1 ? when he actually is and the other clown isnt ......seriously >.>

Why can't the candidates simply state the issues, give realistic solutions, and be done with it.

this is exactly what McCains hasnt done so what the fk are you talking about, Obama did about pretty much all the issues and has step up to a number of interviews to answer them on the spot showing he is rdy to lead and he has the solutions now and not maybe and ill ask some1 else to maybe tell me what to do like McCain. have you seing McCain's interview on the view ? ya nothing there ill tell you what i heard, i believe in pro life but is ok for others to believe in pro choice so hmmmm but i am pro life so i dont know what the fk i stand for couse for you to be saying you are pro life and being ok with others being being pro choice you are no longer pro life you are pro choice couse you acknowledge every1 can choose w/e the fk they want to believe in

and this brings me to

republicans will say absolutely anything, no matter how outrageously stupid, contradictory, and/or false, in order to stave off criticism and to win an election. let me add to that abuse the false/created insecurities of some voters who are partially ignorant to the situation
