Hi,

I do not play WoW, and I dont even like the graphics from the screenshots, but I just read on a newssite that Blizzard sued a guy who makes a bot for WoW, and Blizzard won and gets 6 million dollar from the guy ... and it is estimated that he earned 2.5 million from selling the bot :P

Too bad Joymax will ignore this completely ... probably

did JM earn like 40 mil every year with sro?

selling premiums because of the server traffic > 1 time a few million for sueing a bot company.

ok i played WoW and have recently came back to sro because im waiting for the expansion for WoW. Let me say that Blizzard makes way more money than JM could ever dream of. Think about how many people play WoW. It is a lot more than SRO. the base for a months play is around 13-15 dollars (depending on if you buy a few months at a time.) There are also other things that can be purchased. So Blizzard has a lot more money to be PAYING their employees with, meaning they can have better security. Does JM have enough money to pay employees? I think yes but i dont think it is enough to have the security like WoW.

I THINK (not sure though), when u put it in perspective (i mean % wise), Joymax makes alot more on average per user then Blizzard does. Ofcourse Blizzard will make more effectivly, but dont forget all the hardcore botters that have like 3x prem+ 3x sp ticket 3x pet scroll etc per month. Thats about 3x as much from 1 person that Blizzard makes from 1 person a month. Some people spend even more silk or even max silk per month. Thats 1 month of SRO vs 20 months WoW. Joymax is just lazy as ****, they have shitloads of money i think... And they really really really don't care, GM Gargamel in 0x33 shirt proves it all. I mean come on, if he doesnt even know what 0x33 is, wtf are Joymax doing ?

The problem with programs like these are that it is unclear who is the owner of the program is. Also, it would probably take someone from the main Joymax, the one in Korea or wherever, to start an investigation on the bot source.

IMO if there were better support from joymax there will be less players quitting & more people buying silks .

Joymax doesn't have a huge ass staff. Joymax doesn't make as much income as Blizzard does.

You're trying to compare something way different. Blizzard has the money to go through to sue someone. Blizzard has the staff to make updates and continuously ban botters. Blizzard has the cash and time.

Joymax has like.. (Just an estimate) 50,000 actual users and half of them buy silk and half of those buys silk monthly. Blizzard has over 6million users that pay $15 a month. Let's be serious here.. 'nuf said.

Joymax owns only two version. Korean and International.. both combined I doubt would even have 500 thousand users even buying a premium. Again.. Blizzard makes shit ton more in few days than Joymax makes in a month.

so true... Joymax programmers could actually learn a bit from 0x33 crew, i remember 0x33 users had a pk2 fix for the 9d stall network items, the second day 90 cap was out... rofl, and im not even gonna talk about the pet/horse autopot or the pick up pet filters, no joymax non bow users dont want arrows thank you...

the reason wow has better security and bot bans updates and all that shit all the time is because u pay monthly for that game

unlike sro where its a free game so they dont have to do that cuz u cant complain cuz its FREE.

thats why.

and ya blizzard is way richer than joymax

You see Blizzard has an almost illegal way of detecting bots, it has this thing called warden which searches through everything u got running. The bot company reverse engineered WoW and so does everyone who runs the bot, yet Blizzard claims that the users do not own the product, they just rent it.

Wouldn't there be issues suing as it's an international game.

may be an international game but where the crime occurs or in this game where the bot was written. Wherever the guy/girl has committed the crime determines whether he/she has broken the countries cyber crime laws. For example if this guy wrote the bot in Chad and blizzard roles up and takes he/she to court the court would dismiss it because there are no cyber crime laws there.
Personally i think Blizzard needa chill out seeing the bot used most of the games in game macros.
