Picture's taken straight from my Hyves Account,and it's my first car. Note that these picture's were made just before purchase,and the car Radio was being replaced for a custom one.

Very smart choice on the 6 series. 5 series is slow and fat, 7 series is a disaster, 3 series doesn't have enough oomph unles you get the 335.. the 6 series is just sexy though. M6 is even sexier :p

How the hell would you afford something like that for your first car? Well unless your quite old when you got it. I had like £1000 when i was 17. :(

I remember that my Father had a BMW 5 Series when i still dropped by regularly in the past. And your right about the M6. I mean -> :shock:

Congrats RuYi! ^-^ It must be easy for you to find a parking spot! I am always worried about finding a good place to park. And if i find one i mostly tend to worry about people nicking into me. I would even prefer a short walk to the City if it meant parking it somewhere spacy.

@avalanche.. u serious?

i thought you lived in america? because if you do, then probably
everything you said about german cars is all hear-say. we've had
2 american cars. a dodge blazer and a chrysler grand voyager.
both those cars needed a new transmission within a year. we have
6 german cars at our place atm, oldest one is from 1968, and ALL
of them drive perfectly. so i rather stick to personal experience.

@topicstarter, grats with the car. i've had a vw golf II, and i'm
currently driving a golf III. vw's are nice, decent cars.

I'm not just saying Euro cars suck cuz I have an American car.. I actually do research when it comes to automobiles.

If you look at your own European show, Top Gear, you can see all the proof in the world. Look at ALL the challenges they have. Go to youtube and watch them, it proves that all the older Euro cars are pure rubbish.. The newer Euro cars are indeed stepping up their game in quality, but it seems way overdue. ALL their cars do is break down and fail life. Then, they do these challeneges in America and the American cars don't break down once, are mostly fully functional, and pass the challenges w/ flying colors.

All those facts about German cars come from personal experiences w/ people and their cars, and yet they treat them well haha. People say mustangs die (the older ones like a '99) die after 100k miles.. barely any of them do. All those need are new belts/fuel injectors and some greasings on the suspension and they are like brand new.. no real major replacements unless its a clutch.

People still have this image of the American Car industry of being gas guzzling cars one break down away from death.. Well at one point they were, like 30 years ago.

But then again cin, give me a Audi R8 and I'll forget most American cars :p

Also its only the V6, can't get the GT due to insurance purposes.

Running 235-240HP and 260-265 torque, got a C&L cold air intake tuned with a tuner by bamachips (Running a 91 octane Race tune), upgraded some of the chassis w/ stiffer sway bar and rear upper control arms.. got a single GT muffler on atm, but going to upgrade to a crossover X-pipe
duals w/ boometube axlebacks. Also as you can see some exterior mods and such.

I don't expect you to know most of what I just said.

Not really. :) Tuning is something i never really considered or had an interest in. Having an V8 with 360 HP at 6300 Rev per min is more then enough for me. I would like to change the Rims to something more aggressive yet i remain mostly undecided. I would like the Yakuza Rims but they are mad expensive. I can't ask what you must have spent on all of those mods/parts, but i do know you must light up the streets when you drive by.

I did the wheels myself, custom job, those are OEM - paint/sandpaper/supplies - $50
c&l intake/tune - $625
rear upper control arms - cost me only $45 but they usually cost $120
stiffer rear sway bar - $50 but usually costs $120
single gt muffler - $80 (its OEM)
stripes - $50
blackout panel - $50
grill - $50

total: $1000

Yeah I get looks time to time from people on the road, but also unwanted attention haha.

Other countries lead the way in utilities (utes) as opposed to these large over sized pickups.

Uh.. what do you expect out of a truck? Good gas mileage? Thats the purpose of trucks, heavy power for heavy hauling/offroading..

Yeah, Holden is a subsidiary for General Motors. However they're Australian bodies, with Australian manufactures engines.

Are you kidding me? $1000? I thought you landed atleast 3 times above that price range. Shows how much i know about those things. Well done.

But it's true what you said about getting some nice looks. :P The ladies love it, the young envy it, the elderly missed it. Unwanted looks seem to come with the package,but driving a bright red car around doesn't make it that uncommon. :P Luckily i am mostly spared from that.

In the future i would like to get the Yakuza rims and maybe some other upgrades. Good economic thinking on your part. :wink:

Hahah, I am very smart when it comes to modding the car. I buy parts that are either OEM take offs off a better model like the GT500, or buy supplies and make my own parts that look just as good or even better than name brands. It is a good hobby to have, but it really empties your wallet. I'm going to have to put another $600 on exhaust/install for my dual setup.. I need to do suspension mods later in life, coilovers. But those damn things cost $1100 plus you need camber plates/LCA's/new panhard bar etc..

I'm probably going to major in Automotive Technology instead of Computer engineering, I don't know yet :x

don't believe all top gear says. sure, it's an amazing show and very
entertaining, but they always give me the feeling that anything other
than the aston martins are "rubbish". and they compared a couple of
convertibles some time ago (i think it was the nissan 350Z vs. the
crysler crossfire vs. some others), and the american one was the one
they called rubbish ;]

it's that american cars lack durability for most european climates. i
hear from some of my american friends that just about any youngster at
their city drives a mustang. well mustangs are rare in the netherlands,

american cars are not built to suit this weather. most german cars are,
since german climate is similar to the dutch one. so meh, i guess we all
believe what we hear around us, and it's not weird that it differs per
continent.

They actually called ALL of them rubbish lol. They were testing to see what conv. would be the best, but all of them sucked. Also I think they preferred crossfire over everything even tho it was rubbish, which it was lol. They concluded that if you want a conv, buy a car that is only made in a conv. style.

The thing about American cars, they just don't function in europe, and european cars don't function in America.

American cars = bigger cars for wider roads and streets and for going fast blasting down highways.
Euro cars = small cars that can maneuver around the small roads in europe.

I mean I can't see a big truck going around Britain.. no use for it at all. They did an episode on Top Gear where Jeremy takes a F-150 out on the streets of some town and gets like stuck everywhere. They also did an episode with the Mustang GT, it almost went on their "Super-Cool" wall, which is rare.

I also can't see a small Renault or Peugot in America... you would be tailgated by a massive F-350 truck that would probably run you off the road with its wind draft.

Not really, the tran usually goes out before the motor will. Usually its the suspension that goes out on a Volkswagen. But i would take a Jetta over that V6 lmfao

Hahahaha I love cocky idiots like you, they put a smile to my face.

You saying tranny or suspension going out like its no big deal.. Last time I checked those are major break downs. Jetta over a Mustang? I'm sorry, but every guy (straight guys for this matter, not like you) knows when you see a Jetta, usually a hot girl is expected.

Who the hell needs a monsterous built V8 monster for a daily driver? When the hell do you need all that power for driving to school or to work? Oh wait, you don't. Unless you go to the drag strip every weekend, it is a big waste of power and money because you'll get a good 10 mpg.

I can smoke any jetta stock or minor mods like mine any day of the year, and look better doing it.
