School Lockdowns are fun. Never had a person with a gun (Probably because we have good gun laws). However, one time we had lockdown because someone had a knife -.- was still fun though, siren goes and we all stack the tables, close the curtains and face our backs to the walls under the tables

It was really.. awkward...

Have any of you ever had so many false alarms that you don't take the drills seriously anymore? At my school, we have a fire drill every month but it's been many years since there was actually a fire incident. When the alarm goes off, everyone goes "Gosh darn it, another drill," and we slowly take our time to pack up our books, computers, even musical instruments, then we walk out the door while talking and listening to music. This happens with lockdowns, too, so all we do now is turn off our lights, lock the doors, go on the internet, and sit around in groups to chat with friends.

Yea, my old school used to do that always and everyone knew it was a drill. I found it stupid that they would do it so often. There's only so much practicing you can do. Once a year is good to inform all the new kids of the drill.

I used to have alot of those fire drills too. On a day the alarm went off again, but it was a real fire this time. It was in the school kitchen but ours is a safe one. It had fire-proof doors and those water thingies at the roofs. Fire didnt last long and didnt spread.

Never had a lockdown here in Holland, entirely new to me.
My guess is if someone is carrying a knife he will be reported to the police or something, no school lockdown. How is the lockdown going to help anyways if you don't know who the person is with the knife/gun? You could've been locked up with the baddie himself and then you're owned.

How about a lockdown at a US Military base? Lockdown drills are certainly necessary at schools, but they shouldn't do them nearly as often, and certainly not with a predictable pattern. They shouldn't announce the drill either. Just some random time during the year (maybe a couple times a year) have a random person from the admin office hit the alarms. Keep people on their toes.

Why would that effect me ? If my parents go hit face on by a train .. would I have to avoid the subject of trains for now on ? I mean .. after all hundreds of peopel die per year due to train accidents.
