So I haven't been on here for a while and I noticed they have a section "exposed botters." Now in the general section, I see people making stupid threads thinking it's funny to FALSELY accused others of botting without insufficient evidence. Now this has gotten out of line. The legits claim to be legits. That's like asking a theif if he stole anything and he will tell you "I dont know what you are talking about." Really, what benefit do you gain from banning a player bot? These player bots are the one who bring Joymax money so you claimed to be legits can continue enjoying the updates every couple of weeks. I do not support botting but they dont bother me either. In Bill Clinton term "I smoke weed, but I do not inhale." It doenst bother me at all because I make good living, pay the premium so I can enjoy the finer things in SRO. Just like in real life, you got the money, you have more power and options. I understand this game is for everybody of all ages. So there's bound to be kids who living with their parent crying because this other kid got the better weapons, gears and level up faster than him because his parents are rich and he stole his mommy and daddy credit card numbers to buy silk.

This is the reason why rev6.com does not want anybody talking about botting. It doesnt go anywhere and the problems wont go away.

Was there really a point in this topic? I rarely see bot accusation threads in GD. Normally it is a show off thread that is spammed with bot accusations.

Easier way is not posting screenshoots, and no1 knows what char you play. Or some heavy pscs.

Seriously i dont mind it at all if other players bot or use launcher or are not legit in any way. If you're legit, then be legit, others bot, then let them bot.

We're here on SRF to have fun, and share knowledge, not to join an anti-bot cult or something like that. These bot accusation thingy ruins the atmosphere of many nice threads for me.

We don't want bots on the forums. We don't want people to QQ about closet botters. We don't want false accusations on our forum. We want a clean legit environment, and lol@rev6 with their bullshit double standard.

We are finally re-opening the forum.

[Illegal]

#1- It is illegal to talk about any bot
#2- It is illegal to sell account
#3- It is illegal to sell gold
#4- It is illegal to advertise application
#5- It is illegal to call another forum member a botter and/or scammer
#6- If Joymax claim it is illegal, you can't talk about it on this forum!

  1. Considering they produce and distribute a free bot that's going to be hard to achieve. Hmm, wait: SRF has this rule too.
  2. And this one
  3. This one too
  4. Advertising applications. I'm assuming that's loaders, pk2 edit tools, etc. We have this rule.
  5. Err, we have this one too. It's why people get banned/warned for false bot accusation.
  6. The last rule: what a load of bullshit. There was a link on this forum to a topic on their forum about a damn loader.

rev6 is a joke with double standards. I lol@ them editing NB's post. "We don't talk about this here" but "it's perfectly fine to ignore rules 1,6&4." I give it a month before they start talking about configuring bots.

"It's a fun place for legits and bots." Yeah, and water goes well with oil.

Its a public SRO forum they are making. They just don’t want endless flamewars. Its not like it is a forum pretaining to their bot. Its not like people have a problem checking the server status, character info, and so forth via their page, though the info is acquired through illegal means. Just visiting their website is EXACTLY the same as using a 3rd party program, or like the people being plvled by people using a 3rd party program. Shouldn’t any link to rev6, or talk of rev6 then be against the rules. Making even this very (long) thread a double standard? (if im wrong please explain to me how so that I may better understand.)

Our forum is a public SRO forum. We don't have endless flame wars anymore. Most of the people that ignited flames were banned when we first created the EB section. The remnants were banned later. You can't distribute a free bot and expect people to not talk about it. There's a reason they closed their original forum. You're using an internet browser to view the server stats; something that can done with a hex edit. Leaving rev6 forums related topics is a double standard, but this topic isn't about rev6.

Not directed at anyone:
The forum dying and the bot accusations nonsense is a classic example of self-fulfilling prophecy. You keep repeating it until it becomes a reality and from then on you become the problem. Once people believe something it is hard to convince them otherwise; once they believe something it is hard to get them to prevent it from happening. In their attempts to prevent it they exasperate the situation and only make matters worse. People believe the forum is falling out favor because of bad topic, bot accusations, etc, but most are willing contributors to the "so-called" problems.

For example: Bot accusations. How hard is it to report the person, put them on your ignore list, and continue the topic as if said person never posted? But no: "OH NOES BOT ACCUSATIONS! MUST FLAME BACK!!!" Then you have a shit storm of a topic, some members get warned; others get banned. Had people taken the first course of action there would be one user warned/banned, the user's post would vanish, and the topic will still be in tact.

How about: "Shit topics." When someone post what others perceive as a "shit topic" you always have that one guy that has to post something obnoxious. Then others join the bandwagon. Then other people come in and complain "you're ruining the forums" the original posters respond, "no you're ruining the forum with your bad topic." Now lets say the poster was reported and put on the ignore list for being a troll, etc? Ostracized basically. Would there be a problem? No. The poster would be warned/banned, the thread would continue, and the forum would be in good shape.

It's about maturity and frankly I think most people lack it.

Example:

Oh they're expected. That's why we have rules in place against it; in anticipation of the flames to come, but is a little maturity and control to much to expect? Is it to much to ask for? Every member has the ability to moderate without actually moderating.

Report button and ignore list are there for a reason.

thats like having a sign in a library saying "IT'S ILLEGAL TO READ IN THIS LIBRARY". SRF foster people and encourage people to expose botters, flame botters, and act super legit. look at SRF history. all the famous people got famous in SRF that got huge fanclubs and became famous cuz they flame botters and act legit and all of them who got famous by acting legit later got exposed and banned.

just trying to open your eyes :)

I watch flame wars go on for hours on this forum... Eventually they get locked but the damage has already been done and left there.

It's not that this forum is dying its the fact that people here make it feel like it. You ban exposed botters etc.. Though nightbloom admited she has another account here.

Should make a topic of "How many names have you created at srf"...

I try hard to visit this forum every once in a while but there isn't that many decent topics. I stubbled across rev6 forum and actually noticed a difference in attitude. Rules are there and mods are on anything that they don't like and they take the appropriate action.

You can down Rev6 all you like, hell open a topic daily here. But with less then a week open i've found more decent topics daily that i could ever find here.

Loaders are NOT allowed.

BS at number 5 on Rev6 forum you cant even call a known botter a botter, this rule is deffinetely not here at SRF.\

In the mod section pk2 editing tools and p lvl time calcs were being discussed and what was decided on was that they were not allowed EVEN THOUGH SRF ALLOWS THEM.

Rev6-forums are online for 5 days now, not a single bot-accusation and there are sooo many pictures where you can accuse. Though, rev6 made the rule no talk about bots. And on SRF I see a bot-accusation every day, not one, but more.
There are rules against the flamers but I can't see they actually get punished. It's also not fair to close the thread with the accusations, the thread-starter just wants to share something with us and because of some retard it gets locked. IMO Flamers and accusation-whores have to get punished harder. But that's my opinion.

EDIT: @ Barotix last sentence:
If a legit doesn't want to be on a forum with botters then stay out. That's the same thing we say to botters here: "If you don't want to be legit or with legits, then get out"

The problem is in us,our negative thinking, and low post-count newbies that come in topic, accuse something of botting...

We know you do care mods, but when you see something like
"I see "OMG No yellow boxes coming" or "Loader"" - post in topic so EVERYONE can see it, dont go tru PM, so everyone can see that you care, and everyone will get "reminded" what they musnt do.

Another thing is, find another mods [I cannot remember when I saw Trice locked a topic or talked what someone have done wrong in topic, nor I cannot remember seeing BrokenSaint posting anything in quite a while], you cannot do everything yourself Barotix, lots of mods are unactive and visiting only OTL, and set raphaell666 for C&S as mod.!

It would also help to ban the people who have remade banned accounts. You've probably got more botters here than you think. And yes, I know how difficult it is to pick them out. A new ip address, and who's got time to go looking through all their posts to see if they are similar? Or if their ip is the same range? Plus you can't ban on a range, they could be actually a new user.

Ah well, maturity level is the major sticking point, and that's not going to change anytime soon unless SRF starts a "18 and over only" policy, and even then, there will be problems.

It's very simple, as Barotix stated. If someone accuses someone else "loader", "no yellow boxes", etc, etc, just hit the "report post" icon. Even if it's obvious that the person really DID bot.

Quality posts over quantity, everything in moderation.
