Ben gets "teleported" off the island to the desert. It continues off with that one episode where he was in the desert with the wound on his arm, which he got from the old crappy ladder back in the Orchid. In this episode, he was also wearing the thick jacket, the same one he wore in the Orchid.
But the thing is, he wasn't just "teleported" spatially, but also temporally. Remember in that desert episode where he asked the bartender what the date was? The flashback was also months ahead after Sayid got off the island because it was just his wife's funeral.
It's pretty crazy how Ben, just getting off the island, immediately gets his schemes up.

Izaach, you're crazy. This episode was fantastic. 3's finale did have a great twist but think about all that they put in this episode and all the plot 'holes' they filled....in less than 2 hours. If you want to know generally how things are going to turn out and how they did, this guy figured out lost a bit ago. Good stuff.
A very solid start for Season 5 but it didn't blow me away like great Lost episodes have before. Imo they spent too much time with Hurley. That could also be on purpose for something they do later though. Enjoyable but didn't excite me like it should've.
Spoiler!
Any media usually fails when delving into time travel. Since Lost has been so great I'm really excited to see how things will keep changing for those on the island.
Weird ep for me, all the jumping between time got kinda weird .. and when Daniel asked to see a man-made structure .. I was so badly hoping someone would say ' OH yeah the 4-toed statue ' =//. But not that many questions were given for that ep .. more of a ' Welcome to Lost ' ep again. But Faraday being on the island before was no news to me .. saw that pre-show before where a fatty goes into a convention of osme sort with a vidya camera and secretly films a recorded interview from that guy in the beginning .. the DHARMA 'leader' which Faraday was taping.
EP2
Spoiler!
Accc, this one was more weird. After Faraday says they cannot interract as it is impossible .. he speaks to Desmond .. is that not contradictive ? Meh and at the end .. who is the woman ? The music went all weird when she showed her face .. so I'm assuming she popped up before ... but I cannot put a name to her face ;o. But tbh, I don't like Ben in this roll. I liked him more ass the psycho mastermind he was before .. not the Omg save the island good he is now =/
All in all, good 2 eps but could of been better. Didn't get the OMFG WTF HAPPENING NEXT TIME feeling.

Faraday suggests Desmond is a person to whom the laws of time do not apply. Reasoning will come later of course. If I had to guess it was some effect from the magnet explosion. The old woman appeared in a couple Season 3(?) episodes, or maybe just one, when Desmond was having those flashback/memories/time travel things where she told him Charley had to die, I think. The girl at the counter we've never seen before.

Ah yeah, knew I'd seen the lady before. Hmm, and I guess you're right about Desmond .. all tho still a dark area.
You remember in EP1 just now when the plane came flying in ? At first I thought it was the smoke montser lol .. got quite happy =/

If you remember the flash-forwards in Season 4 you'll remember that Ben appeared in the middle of the desert. So, when he moved the wheel he was teleported(?) to the desert. Also, in an earlier episode they showed a polar bear in the desert. The polar bears were trained to move the wheel because if a human did it they would be teleported. I assume the wheel must be moved back to its original position for their time to stop. Moving the wheel forward means go, moving it back means stop.

We don't know if Desmond is immune to the time thing, it's just an idea that Nuklear came up with. It's a pretty good one, though. Because Faraday did indeed say that the future can't be changed, yet he talked to desmond after that. Nuklear said it might be because of the explosion that happened back in ep 1(?) which supposedly would make him immune. I think that might well be the truth Nuklear Nice thinking. We'll get the reasons later
Spoiler!
The mystery woman, isn't it locke's mom? Some1 said in Ep2 that ben should go visit locke's mom, and in ben's next scene he was there?
. Also, in an earlier episode they showed a polar bear in the desert. The polar bears were trained to move the wheel because if a human did it they would be teleported. .
Damn, that with the bear never occured to me ...

The woman at the end was indeed from one of Desmond's flashbacks. Remember when he was going to propose to Penny and he went into the store and was about to buy a ring but the woman behind the desk explained how that's "Not what you do, you have second thoughts and don't buy it." and tells him to leave the store. Then they spend some time together yada, yada.
Forgot the guy's name but he seems to be "special" too just like Desmond. I'm referring to the guy who helped Locke when he was shot and fell off the cliffside. He has knowledge of time travel and can maybe influence the future. Here we also get some small explanation as to why Locke died - to save the island.
The 70-something hours required for Ben to go back to the island is probably to synchronize their arrival with the current time that the people in the island are in. That's probably why the mysterious old lady was measuring some things with the pendulum thingy. Also in her computer were other marks on the world map - possible locations of other islands, or locations where the island moved.
Time traveling seems to be almost limitless, as shown on the flame arrow scenes. They probably traveled way far back in time when the island's residents are primitive. This time traveling can largely reveal more of the islands history.
Did you notice though .. in the basement or whatever it was with the old lady .. how old her pc was ? It looked like early 80's or so. Weird but hm. ( Btw the man you were talking about is named Richard Alpert.
Not really calling this a spoiler tbh so I'll post it out of the spoiler.
My favo line: Locke: A compass? What's it for? Alpert: It points north, John.

Still though, nothing will beat the 1st AND 2nd season marathon in like 3 days i pulled off. I was glued to the screen. I wish i could experience this again, i was shaking out of excitement every 2 minutes, god damn that was an awesome nolife weekend
Spoiler!
As for season 5, i really hope this isn't going to be too boring. Knowing what they did before, i think they can stretch this another season, but it really has to start closing in to an end even though we just stepped off the island, scene wise. Idk what do you guys think?
Season 6 is the final season. They've probably got a detailed outline for the rest of the series so I wouldn't expect anything but gold from here on out.
