It simply stated we would be banned if we promoted bots on this forum.

That was my ruleset.

Don't blame the forum or the staff. Its the game, and the owners of that game. Your apple pie is only going to be as good as the apples you were given. And if I recall, a lot of those "old timers" got banned by saying "**** it, I bot, ban me" for no reason.

Do you think I left SRO because I was bored of the game? No, I left SRO because of a company that sells you a 20$ premium ticket to log in when theres thousands of gold bots keeping you from loggin in.

How many "new people" to the game does SRO get? Anyone who is new, downloads the game, and trys to play it gets "Server disconnected" and the program closes.

Know why that ruleset doesnt work all that great?

A player posts.
People from their server post crying "botter! botter! botter"
That player talks a bunch of shit.
Rinse and repeat every time that player posts regardless of the topic.

....All over the entire forum.
....Every Farking day.

Now which one do you tell to STFU? The angry legit, or the person who cheats?

SG created the Exposed botters section, now whether or not it was talked about in the little mod only section between a few mods i really dont know. I know one or two of the mods didn't agree with it as it would cause more harm than good.

Agree with your point and when people realized this they decided to create a no-dc client or use a loader. But was classed as a bot and nobody accepted the fact it was a 'way around the stupid a$$ client reloading'.

Both, because one way or another with the amount of EB banned in that section it was mostly BOTS complaining about another bot. I don't believe on 'True legits' that actually still play the game and haven't touched a bot or a loader. Sorry, ITS BS. Not in the state of the game it is in today and trust me when i started in 2005 to when i quit in March of 09 watching 9-10 bots follow each other on Roc mountain.

Too many people have become addicted to the fact they don't have to hand grind to 100. I've seen many that have told me they would never EVER hand grind ever again. Joymax has done nothing to prevent or scare the silk buyers and banning them even if it was a 7 day or 2 month or more ban.

I don't believe the exposed botters section was deemed necessory all it has caused is those will guides, tools, pk2 edits etc to move on to another forum and provide the information before SRF actually gets it. This used to be the top place for information and help it was deemed close to the official forums and was BETTER then the official forums.

95% of the current players of SRO bot, it will always be like this because Joymax refuse to prevent and stop bots. The latest removing the image code verification. What more proof do you need to show that Joymax does not care about bots?

Is it too much to ask to stay on topic for once?
If someone is dissatisfied or has the urge to whine about something, and there's always someone who has to, PM me, or create another thread in SD for all I care.

But out of all the threads that have been derailed with constant whining, why did it have to be this one, as well?
Use this thread to leave a message for Sui, to thank him for all the effort and time he spend for SRF, for the community, for you.
If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.

SuicideGrl, thank you for everything you've done. You were one of the most contributing, and most important people of SRF.
I wish you, from the bottom of my heart, all the best in the future.

Ru Yi

GL SG! I don't know you on a personal level, but that was a cute farewell message. :D

Well, to state the obvious, over 90% of any server population use bots. A good 30% of those 90% are the actual active Forum regulars, a good 70% perhaps in this forum. I don't intend to accuse but merely stating my observation. Just from my server alone, I have yet seen an actual Legit player posting in this forum, and sadly that includes me now too... This game has become so shitty that it makes it hard for the legits to stay legit anyway, and it's not like the game's even worth it now either. So, perhaps, just to make it official, it's about time to make some changes to SRF policy and end the hypocrisy. Just a suggestion.

Oh yeah, on a brighter note, Aion NA and EU are starting their Closed Betas this weekend. There is, finally, some light in the end of this dark tunnel. Wanna start an Aion Forum instead? Haha!

after much thought, I think nightbloom should be unbanned. yeah she was a botter, but it's also because of her that SG had the motivation to play and run SRF. did anyone notice that SG quit the game and stop going to SRF right after he banned nightbloom? Seems as if his mods forced him to ban NB, IMO. nb and sg had always been friends so that wasn't right.

anyways, good luck SG. come back one day dont be stranger.

NB broke the forum rules. It just so happened that it was during the holiday season when he was ridiculously busy considering he works in retail. Venus was also starting to turn into a shitty place to be because of Fly and NB.

people worry to much on what they do. venus is still one of the best servers iv played you have an active comunity and euro parties....... fly and nb only started it so basically this is a political game. because they made the confederation politics is involved and you guys should understand how much power they can loose in seconds.

Am I the only one that found the way Lowis did his quotes in his post funny?

Back on topic, if it's gonna start up on NB and Fly, could we pls just move those to a new topic in GD or EB or something other than this. I don't know SG much more than admin here and hearing about him on venus and whatnots, but I still think it's kinda dis-respectful talking about this stuff here. Specially when he and NB were friends.

(You know what would be kool though, if everyone from the SRF staff could take a group screenshot all in one server ^_^ or everyone from SRF log onto their characters, take a screenie, and turn it into a collage for SG. Just my thought)

SG = guy i believe but anyways it cant turn into a NB Fly topic because there is nothing more to be said people complain about things and not do anything about it. besides I'm glad SG is leaving not like a mean thing or anything but life > SRO (unless your me SRO > life because you have nothing better to do) its always nice to see an oldie choose life over SRO.

Thank you so much, guys, for all your kind words.

That you, also, to those who have offered criticism, even in this, my goodbye post. It is that kind of debate that proves to me, unequivocally, that SRF is not dying. As long as there are people who care enough about this game to put their thoughts down on virtual paper, SRF will thrive and grow.

It is very true that the bulk of those who made up SRF's early community are gone. Some of them left due to personal circumstances. Some of them were banned for breaking rules. Some of them got themselves banned on purpose because they needed a way out, and like me, they didn't have the willpower to just give it up. It's hard to see something you love change.

Yes, SRF has changed. But it brings up a philosophical question that I was first asked in a class in college: "You are a ship captain, and you purchase a ship. You love your ship intensely for many years. After a while, it begins to need repairs. You replace 10% of the timbers. Is it still the same ship? What about when, after many more years, you have replaced 50% of the timbers? What happens when ALL of the original timbers of the ship have been replaced? Is it still the same ship then?"

I believe that yes, it is still the same ship. SRF has changed many of its timbers over the years it has existed, but I believe that it is just as much the captain and the crew that help to define the ship, and that as long as they still love and care for that ship, as long as they still guide it carefully through the waters, it will always be their home away from home.

Posting here and reading all the responses from so many different people, from SRF's past and from what must be its future, has been an experience that I didn't even realize how much I missed. I am so grateful for all the kind words and expressions of gratitude. It really makes the time I spent here feel so worthwhile. I will be around, lurking and posting sometimes. So many of you have contacted me on MSN and through email. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.

Our criticism is in no way to show that you've done a poor job but proves that you've made sacrifices for all of us on this forum. The fact that my first post was to show that even though i didn't agree with some of your policys, i still send a huge thanks for everything done for this forum.

I was one of the first to PM you when you got your account back on Xian. It was a short note that said congrats but it was far back. Good memorys always stay golden.

Ru nice edit to my post considering others can't stay on topic too.

On topic: I love you Jay :X We all miss you both here and in game. You were the only person who I trusted with my +9 xD. Anyways, thanks for all the support and hard work in building the SRO community as well as all the bot smashing you did on Venus. Most definitely a legend in many peoples eyes, forever a friend in mine.

Take care man... and keep in touch on MSN!

Figured I'd just pop in and post my regards to SG. The days I spent here were good ones. I enjoyed being a Moderator for the time I was. Although I eventually left to me 'outgrowing' the age group of the majority on this board.

Best of luck SG, I won't bother contacting you on MSN, you'll just be idle like you always were

You started it he was just trying to stop it as it really is not suitable for this thread. And I did bad to responding to your trolling. That is why I had not replied back after the previous post. If you want to keep going lets take it outside to EB in another thread.

No need to start a topic which will be edited and locked and sweeped under the carpet like everything else that is similar. :)

It was nice playing with you in Venus, I cannot forget the times I was yelling in union chat about the trades in Venus... and me trying to outlevel your trader job exp.

I also remember very well to think, while I was playing, that SuicideGirl was obvioulsy A GIRL, something that nobody have ever believe but me alone!

(and even after hear you in ventril lo!)

I also remember pretty well the way you have handled all the drama that was happening in Venus when you were there (this days people seem to forget more and more about having fun)

Thank you for handling this forums, it have open my eyes and let me enjoy this game even more... I have found the Venus community thz for this. Because of this same forum, I have been able to create the ultimate party helper (cleric/bard) in a game I was about to giving up...

Also a word about the moderation here: what you have done with the ban bots section was something done for the community and asked by a lot of people, you dont have to worry about the future of that section. Remember always that it was a decision done to help the community and dont look back.

I could posted here lots of printscreens, lots of nice topics, but I will just tell you something that you shouldn't remember:

When I was low low low level in your union, I got a problem with a party and some legits and some bots. I remember being a noob without a lot of experience, when this have happened. I have never forget the answer, was long was I was playing, your answer:

Image

and my guild master also

Image

and here's the topic, in private section of course.

viewtopic.php?f=74&t=97087

You know that I have printscreen that and put under my bed :banghead:

Anyway, kept talking in messenger, I will be around waiting for news about WoW and random stuff like cars!
