The community is great.

The game requires playing and isnt a pure grindfest.

I just joined a faction (guild) at lvl 25 and I don’t feel 1 bit lesser of a person for my level.

people actually HELP you when you just ask in regular chat.

Another plus, I have never been begged for gold, I have never been invited to fack any of my family members or animals.

All builds are soloable, and dependant upon each other within a party.

I got invited to duel a person 8 lvls above me and rather than being called a noob for losing to him, he told me I was good, but could learn a few things, (I was checking his personal info while fighting so it was very half-assed mulit taskish fighting.) I have never been encouraged by a higher level that I pvp'd in sro.

If you cant find an npc, you can bring up a menu and they point you toward them. You can bring up a menu that tells you what quest you can get, no searching for and npc with something over its head.

O and guess what, there loads of people actually at their computers killing mobs and you arent ks'd but someone named "adhwfkcw."

I have come to genuinely like this game to the point that im going to permanantly delete sro. Im not going to pay to enter a f2p game. If im going to spend money on a f2p game, I better be able to get in to spend it, and it should not be spent on the ability to get back in when I dc 5 times. Also cash shop items are tradeable, CS currency is sellable, so you don’t have to start the game poor if you want to spend 10 bucks. Also you can fucking fly, fight mobs in the air (same with water,) come on, sro cant do that shit.

If you do take my advise, pm me here and ill try to assist you in the beginning.

Mmm at some point I agreed with you.. I quit SRO for PW because i preffered how things went there.
I played the MY_ENG version for a very long time.. close to a year. in the beginning it was all fun and later all fell apart.
I went to PW-I and checked things out there, i admit i was rather bored because I didnt feel like grinding another char all the way up, I have 2 high lvls on MY_ENG.

Btw, Im not sure if your level is still 25 or higher by now, but trust me after level 80 the game does become a grind fest.. depending on your play time takes up to 6 months to get to 100 and from there on 6 months PER level.

I cant really say I enjoyed the international servers much... But everyone to their own, right? =)

As to the other people.
The reason why everyone hates WoW so much is because people who play it are so crazily addicted, that when they play another game they always have to compare the games. other games forums get spammed about how ppl hate that the game doesnt have this or that function when WoW has it. Its just WoW turned the complete world into mmo addicted freaks that see the daylight maybe once a year...
I tried it out too, there was a free trial for a while a few years back.. 2 week for free or something and the game really is squishy IMO..
But maybe thats just because ive always hated to see how ppl complained about how other games are just not like WoW... lol... so if another game doesnt suit your needs then go play wow? sheesh.. cant be that hard

LOL makes me laff WOW is for the addicted please that can be said for each and every MMO. Especially SRO read posts of people waiting for hours to log on please and low level areas that are so bot infested almost no on actually levels themselves through but get power leveled. I used to play this game hard but gave up when I could not find a grinding spot without getting ks'd by bots. Now for people to profess that this is the best game ever are truly the addicted ones.

+1 ire

The reason everyone compares everything to WoW atm is that WoW sets the gold standard in almost every area. Having played wow for the better part of a year now I have knowledge of most things but I still find more all the time. The game is so well balanced and designed it is a joy to play. Going from my 80 mage to my 80 warrior the game play is different but they are equally formidabe and fun to play. Something joymax was never really able to accomplish well. At cap in WoW there is so much to do. In SRO there is nothing.

At any rate I used to be a WoW hater myself. But the game is just that good. There ar other good games out there as well. SRO is just one of the worst

WoW while is great, and there is a variety of stuff you can do, but it is the most time consuming MMO I've encountered. Addicted maybe. But no doubt for me, end game WoW is more time consuming than any MMO I've encountered combined.

Sure the leveling is easy, ridiculously easy and fast for an MMO.

But the end game activities take forever. Even completing a Heroic can take from 20 minutes to an hour depending.

If you want to see all of End-Game content you really have to dedicate at least 3 nights around 3-5 hours each. And with majority if guilds with fixed schedules and various attendance requirements, WoW is definitely the most time consuming game. Acquiring gear is also. Some guilds require DKP, accumulating that can take weeks and then to have enough for full set will take months. If you just joined, even with loot council, minimum 2 week trial period and even then the long time members usually will get priority. Whatever loot system a full set can take and usually does MONTHS.

WoW can be summed up in one word. Time. Time needed to farm materials, farm gold, grind honor points, grind arena points, grind reputation, quests chains, and killing a boss 30 times for your chance to get gear.

Silkroad and others while not as comprehensive end-game content, you play time is not scheduled. Want to thief go ahead, after 10 minutes want to quit, go for it. Sure you can do the same in WoW, but don't expect an invite again...

I liked WoW but my problem was the scheduling. I hated scheduling my life around a game and after I quit on that main principle. In order to enjoy the end-game content, I had to schedule my life around a game? No thanks. There wasn't a single guild that was raiding past Twins in Sunwell during BC that didn't require stringent attendance requirements, after months of that I called it quit. Cause I'm sure I'm not the only one, if I play, I want to see the all the content!

SRO replacement, I'd look at a grinding game. Like maybe Lineage 2 private servers?

Play something more strategic-rpg kind like DotA or HoN.

I'd recommend trying Jade Dynasty, Ether Saga or Rappelz. Rappelz is a pretty good game, didn't play it very long though. Just try those three =D
Atm i'm playing ksro because I got pissed of isro and I'm happy there =)

You could play other games like Jade Dinasty or Aion, great games, but can't be compared with Sro

Also on a personal note, you could always try private servers :)

Private servers don't have the same quality as retail, especially on WoW and Aion, aion is a fairly new game so the development of an emulator isn't quite finished yet, and those wow servers are just coded very bad...
