As of right now he's the leader for the Pichichi (most goals scored in La Liga), has the most assists in the league, and has completed the most dribbles in the league. He's the front runner for the fifa player of the year and his salary is over 35million euros a year (comparison, he makes more than Christiano Ronaldo and Kaka combined.)
Are you kidding me??? he's 22!! One day I'm gonna tell my kids I had the joy of watching Lionel Messi. I was too young to enjoy Maradona, his prime ended in 1994. And my parents weren't even born when Pele was playing.

8 goals in 3 matches, in 1 week. some people are already calling him the best player ever, i think that's a little bit exaggerated. i would still prefer rooney over messi though, you have to consider to which teams messi has been doing his latest wonders. you can't really compare the teams over there in la liga with the bigger, stronger teams of the premier, that's why rooney (i think) has been doing better than messi. having said that, i would still prefer ronaldo or ronaldinho when they were in their best shape over messi. edit: and cristiano.. lol i mean real madrid overall, isn't a team, they're just a bunch of good players packed together playing with the same shirt, playing for individual glory. that's why cristiano's skills have been kind of darkened lately, it's the team that sucks, cristiano is a very skilled player despite that.

In FM10 I have both in Man Utd. Rooney already scored something like 20-25 goals in mid season. I play Messi as AMR, instead. So he doesn't score that much. :/
I do prefer Messi over Ronaldo or the best Ronaldinho, though. I don't know exactly why, but he's got someting the other two lack of.

Ronaldinho is an old man right now !
I wrote "the best Ronaldinho"..when he played in Barcelona (last two seasons excluded, though). He was sorta amazing back then.
@IceCrash: so you want an unpleasant coach for an already unpleasant team? Nice one, lol.
And FYI, if you read Italian news -which I doubt you do- Mourinho is one of the few coaches who actually work solely for money. He's defending Inter right now, but I'm pretty sure that if someone offered him more than he gains now -something like 14m per season- he could leave any moment. He already proved this, as he said he wouldn't mind coaching RM -money, money, money- he told one middle team's president he's stupid and naive because he couldn't afford to pay him! I could go on, but I think you understood I don't like him.

his goal from the weekend. amazing really. he is the best player atm but he needs to be consistently good for a long time to be best player ever imo. he also needs to perform in the WC since he isnt really this good with argentina. W/ ronaldo out of CL (and under-performing)i think its between rooney and messi to win the world player of the year/ballon d'or, and imo messi has been fantastic compared to rooney who has turned into a goal poacher type player.
Ronaldinho in 04/05/06 > Messi right now though, if dinho had been more consistent he coulda been the best player ever. this season he has been quite good for milan.
Edit: ^lolwut ferguson is at man utd not arsenal lol.. and theres no way he's leaving, why would he leave the best club in the world to join the joke of a club madrid.

CRonaldo had a nice goal today. I think talks of him have gone down because Higuain is scoring so many goals, but if Higuain isn't offered more money next season he will probably leave RM. Not that Higuain plays for the money, but he has 23 goals and makes less than CR9's right toe.

Football salaries aren't that spectacular. It's the advertisement deals that gets the real money. Messi gets paid 9 million per year, which is less than a third of his total earnings. (Not saying their salaries aren't great, just saying there's more to look at than salary)
