 Rant Thread

ok so i applied to Media Arts at sheridan and this is what i get back..

Spoiler!

i need 40/57 to be considered. even if i were to get perfect on the story idea (which btw i had 2 english teachers look at before i sent it in) and have 4 relevant courses (27 marks) i would need atleast 2 jobs that are relevant to the course. i don't see how thats even fair or possible for a high school student, last time i checked I AM GOING TO COLLEGE TO GET A JOB!

what does everyone else think?

Some schools are extra picky.

It's real life. Some girls will only put out for rich guys, some for nice guys, some will put out for anything that has a dick.

Look at date of offer, IIRC you have to apply at the end of October and get accepted (or rejected in your case) in March/April. Yes, I am great.

Spoiler!

no, we apply in winter and get rejected in march / april. im just saying here that these admissions are a little redicilous for a high school student, wouldn't you say?

You need to get over your self... In the other thread he made about college you also posted about how cool you were going to UofW. Last I checked over ten thousand people went there, so there is no question that you are not anymore special than them. Also lets not forget the fact that Sheridan's media arts program is probably just as hard to get in as a business program at a University.

To be honest it just sounds like you didn't know exactly what you were applying for, nor the conditions. I'm not going to go and apply at Harvard with an average of 43% and go 'wtf is this shit'. =\

The more you know..

thats a horrible comparison. i was told i needed a good english mark. i have a 90 in english, last semester my total average was 87. just saying, this course is meant for students coming out of high school right? then why the f*ck would i need 2 or 3 related jobs to apply?

My program is harder to get into than the business program. In my program they let in anyone with a pen and a pad of paper.

Again..read the first sentence I replied with. Some universities and colleges require you to do X. If you don't you're not going to get in..They're not going to say 'oh well he didn't know! Let him in!'. Also was there any chance of a co-op school related job that could get you points..I know there is/was at my school.
