Helpful individuals across the Internet have written a number of step-by-step "how to" guides, tutorials, and general advice on installing Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard" and Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" on self-built systems, Dell and HP Mini netbooks, an MSI Wind nettop, and more.

Doing this to my desktop next weekend. Since mac went intel, supposedly it's been extremely easy to install osx on a pc. You basically just need to install a loader.

Spoiler!

My first shot at customizing my desktop, not too bad I guess. I've got a matching visual style that goes with it as well, so I suppose its a teal design.

Meh, I go on it often enough, might as well make a shortcut.

Would probably be more useful if you installed an OSX skin.

http://rainmeter.net/RainCMS/
Enigma Skin[Comes default in rainmeter]
*These are the icons shown on the bottom right hand corner, CPU HDD Ram Power, Weather, etc with edited colors.

Clock,Day, and Notes are:
http://white-baron.deviantart.com/art/S ... -162356914
*I edited the .ini files of mines and used a different font, changed the default positions, and changed the colors as well.

Wallpaper:

White Icons at bottom:
Rocket Dock- http://rocketdock.com/
Icons- http://leechiahan.deviantart.com/art/Lu ... -104175952

**editing the .ini files in any of the rainmeter skins is pretty straight forward. for things such as #weather# just replace it with weather codes, from weather.yahoo.com

** color codes will be in rgb form. something like this:
FontColor=133,242,255
FontSize=32
FontFace=#Font#

sometimes there are preset variables such as:
[Variables]
Font=HelveticaNeue LT 35 Thin
Colour=255, 255, 255
With this, it applies it to the entire skin, unless changed otherwise within specific areas. And as you acn see, the default color was white. The font associated with simplesentence 2 is by default kremlin, but i prefered a sleek look, and used HelveticaNeu LT 35 Thin.

Fonts can be downloaded here:
Download *Taken from Noob_Slayers helvetica thread.

-* goodluck, it shouldn't be too hard, considering It was my first time ever doing that.

No one reads ):, scroll up on this page a bit, to where I made a effort post, even provided links, on how to make similar desktops such as his.

Looking at inkys desktop, hes simply using rocketdock with modified image files for the dock icons, edited in photoshop most likely, he's using rainmeter, I assume its BG or something similar. Also using CAD(cd. art diplay) and a windows (xp or vista) visual style.

I have my taskbar on auto-hide, so i just simply mouse-over it to get it to pop up. Most of the time, i just tab alt through my different windows. You get use to it after a while.

@bryan/masta:

The skin is custom VS. I got mine from sweatyfish.deviantart but before you try to install a skin, make sure you got the proper tools and a compatible VS. Otherwise it's most likely not gonna work, or worse - it could fuck up your computer.

The rainmeter skins I use are slightly tweaked. Different X/Y values, text sizes, fonts, colors/opacity value. Just use the "edit skin" function and everything in there will pretty much be self-explanatory.

Heos is pretty much right on the dot. Rainmeter, custom vs, rocketdock, cad. I also got cooliris and foxtab and NASA skin on my FF to match the theme. =p

Alt+Tab is kinda annoying when you have 8+ programs open.It runs through them too fast.
