I understand the sp farming and why it is needed, but is it absolutley necesarry to sp farm. I guess I am to impatient, but it will take forever to get one level with a 9 level gap. Would it be alright to have a 4-5 level gap for a casual gamer who doesn't want to take up a part time job?

No, it is not necessary to sp farm. But if your build needs a lot of skills and masteries, than i would recommend it. If not don't do it, you can make a grat char. even without sp farming.

If you decide to sp farm, then do it with a lvl 9 gap, because with it u get the biggest amount of sp that you can get. A lvl 4-5 gap will make farming a lot of harder.

How, exactly, would it make farming HARDER?

less sp = more farming = HARDER

Farming is necessary if you want to max alot of skills. Maybe if you are str light glaive with just light and glaive you will get away with a small amount of farming. But an int that needs cold, light, fire, spear/sword has to farm a ton.

To everyone that just started.. I recomend not to farm at all or just very little till you´re high lvl. This gives you time to explore the game and such, and let´s you sp farm when you´re in the big numbers.

The point of SP farming is to gain massive amounts of SP, not gain levels.
Like Troo said, as a casual gamer you should just enjoy the game and go with a low gap or even no gap at all. This will give time to learn all the mechanics of the game.

It's good to choose one weapon and stick with it. For force, you can have multiple elements, but that uses a lot more SP.

My advice, Go farm at low levels, when you get higher level it gets harder to farm..
i get with 9 levels gap and gold time ticket around 1000~1200 sp in 3 hours while you can get 2.5k ~3k in 3hour at level 16...

and as ShizKnight said you will farm someday, so do it when its easy..
