I'm curious about this, I get a lot of comments from a lot of people regarding their frustration and dissatisfaction with sro. I know I promised I would stay until October to see if any of the new promises are kept. About half of my union have advanced on to Wow first... we'll follow if we just can't get anywhere. I'm curious as to what the valid # of people considering leaving is. Leave your server name in the comments too, this should make for an interesting read :)

I won't leave, even though joymax doesn't seem to do anything on the outside from what I see, I can only hope there actualy doing something, they don't discuss with us. I hope that this new band botting system someone was talking about gets implimented when cap raise. As for leaving if the cap raise doesn't come on oct, I woudln't just cause of that. Although i'm sure many lvl 70 fully farmed are wanting the cap to be raised cause they can't stand to just be lvl 70 they wanna be higher, it gives others like myself a chance to catch up whcih is good. Even if I was 70 I still wouldn't leave cause of no cap raise at the end of oct, theres many things you can still do for fun.

I was going to leave. When midterms hit 3 weeks ago, I stopped playing Alps completely. I was going to join Red Sea, but the timing was off and I still had more midterms so no time. However, when I heard Rome was opening, I decided I still wanted a high level character on a new server. Alps filled up with botters really fast; faster than it currently appears on Rome.

Anyways, the ONLY dissastidicaiton I have with JM is the lag/cannot connect due to server traffic at the peak times. If they could get that fixed/better handled, then I'd be really pleased.

I'm not one that is bothered by ccf's/botters/etc. That's just part of life and being a programmer myself, I know stopping them is easier said than done (directed at all the people bitchin' at JM) I'm not going to worry myself or spend emotions over stuff I can't control, and I don't see why anyone else does, the effort is only hurting themselves.

Overall though, I am happy with SRO, I just spent $50 on silk :)

End of Oct, I will be mostly playing wow till cap raise, that or an SRO alt.
But if they would just drop everything else, and move the ksro bot ban system here, that would save a lot of people from leaving.

Not trying to take this post off topic>>> this does apply to this topic.

Yes i am dissattisfied with the way this game is being run, i lvl`d hard most with a 0 lvl gap to get to 70 and then be able to farm, BIG mistake, i have warned others not to make the same mistake i did. I spend most my days standing in hotan taking care of guild and union matters now since the cave is so full of bots, there are only certain times i can train those times yes i hunt and hunt hard, the rest of the time im taking care of the guild and union.

As any programmer knows u can spend millions on devoloping code to break botting hacking etc. And there will always be people out there maybe half a step behind u to bust/ bend or change that code to there own benafit.

Any gamer that has played these games realizes the cheapest most cost effictive means to bust the botters is not code programming or second party utilities >>>> IT IS A SET OF HUMAN EYES WATCHING U.

A programmer cost 10x as much as an ingame gm, in schooling and degrees. A GM or multiple GM`s could be tought how to locate and observe human players versus bot players very easily and very much cheaper then a team of programmers trying to code there way around the botters.

Please do not get me wrong i am not faulting any programmers out there, they are fighting a loosing battle. As soon as they devolop a new bot deterrent the hackers/ bot makers devolop a new hack/bot usually in a few days to a week.

1 top lvl programmer would cost approx the same as 10-20 trained ingame GM`s whose job would be searching out and banning bots, some games come close to doing this, it just eludes me why some are so reluctant to step back and use the old rules >>>>> KISS>>KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID.

Code cannot see a botter running a pattern in such an such room doing the same each kill never talking etc, a living breathing human can. Right now this game is in a war of the wills, as other games have done, the programmers against the hack/bot makers each trying to beat the other one, and the legit players are the ones suffering.

Some say this would not work, i m sorry but it is u that is wrong, let me give u an example of one way and this is so simple to know if someone is a bot or not>>>

each gm would have the ability to send a pop up to any player they thought was botting, that pop up would be like a trade window or party window, in that window would be a simple question (a random question so it could not be patterned) such as "hello nice day" OR " Hello are u here" with check box`s yes or no for the player to click, if not answeed withen 30 sec`s thats one count against them, each supposed player would recieve 3 different questions if it ignored each question = automatic acct ban >>> and yes i said acct ban not just the char but the whole acct.
The pop up would be centered in the players screen so it could not be ignored by a human player and there is no way around this simple procedure, the questions could be so random that no programmer of the bot could take all of them into acct, wrong answers = the gms watching this char and acct more closely and testing in other ways and ignoring the pop up would be simple grounds of banning after 3 attempts.

This is just one example there are many other ways, it comes down to a simple "FACT" u can bot around any code devoloped, BUT u cannot bot around a set of HUMAN EYES watching u.

Now i posted this here because u are an SA and i know u will always check out the post u make, so this is the best way to get this to u while also letting others see it. Also as such, since u are an SA i realize that this will be given to those people incharge of this game for there consideration.

well, i wont be leaving probably anytime soon but i will leave soon if this lag continues which JoyMax has no excuse for. Something needs to be done about it otherwise it's just total neglect for iSRO. Alot botting issues and acc. stealing issues are getting worse and more frequent. Someone needs to put a stop to all this SOON otherwise i'm gone.

Yeah I already went back to Ragnarok, as I was tired of the grinding and always being broke and now with theses stupid hacks....it just isn't worth it. I came here for a vacation from Ro, and I love the game play, but can't trade because of the nimrods, don't pvp because of the sheer arrogance of the players, grinding is impossible with so many bots...

If I didn't have so much time invested in my character I would drop it today but as it is I'll be staying, to see what happens in the next few months.

I would definitely advise anyone interested in a MMORPG to look elsewhere, until JM sort the bot (and therefore lag ) situation out.

And like chaby, if it gets much worse I will go regardless because it is fast becoming stress, instead of fun Image

Hey now, at least I will be 70, and farmed. None of this 6X.

Some sensible commonsense ideas there Thesleeper Image

I agree totally that a [GM] type of solution is very workable, though you could imagine there would be all sorts of claims from the person kicked due to botting......I'm sure we have all worked an area so repetitively that we come to know which the bots are, and that their behaviours are not so difficult to pick.

So this could work, but I do see a problem with the popup question idea, in that you would need to cater for so many different languages (it is International SRO after all).

9/10 dude.

Honey your comments r valid - we broached the topic in July I believe - but the whole root of the problem stems with the fact that admins won't recognize that there is a problem. Asking for ingame GM's etc and enhanced player-to-Admin contact and all of the things that SHOULD be on sro will never happen until sro actually figures out that there is a problem. And that day will not come until the servers are populated only by non-silk buying bots. lol.

My fingers r crossed, I have to tell you. Love the game, love 6% of the people in game, enjoy the graphics, gameplay etc. I think Gargamel works incredibly hard with his work load tbh with everybody - but at the end of the day he too is a cog in a wheel being rolled down the street by someone who doesn't appear to ever have played sro. We had hoped that by supplying detailed, in-depth accounts of problems ingame that it would make it just that much simpler to fix. I don't think that fool-proof plan got too far lol :p

Leveling has killed me. Its lose lose for me. If I job...i have to go back to leveling because im too low. If i level, I feel like doing job because leveling is so boring. So I left and hope when Euro comes it....it can be less click and brain rot.

I'm still deciding.. eather sro or wow.

Reasons to stay here:
- I love the gameplay
- Some friends, not that much.. but those I have I care much about
- I still need to get my ass up to 70 (or more ;o)

Reasons to go wow
- no botters/cffers.. in other words fair gameplay as far as I know.
- know alot of rl friends who play it
- I heared that there is much more to do then in sro, but not sure

As soon as I made up my mind I'll get to 60 (wow) or 70 (sro) as fast as I can ^^

I have moved to Carpe Diem until such time as Joymax deals with bots and credit card fraud.

If nothing happens in a reasonable period of time, I will probably move along with some of the BS union to another game.

All I do now is chasing thieves and Isy. Why even bother to level when the work you put into it will never be enough to compete with some afk jerk.

I left SRO because of botters and CCF'ers.
I login sometimes but just to goof around. thief/hunt or chat with friends.

I haven't played in a couple weeks. Last time I tried playing, I had constant lag, and was basically unplayable for me. Until I can play without that, I probably wont play.

I will keep playing. There are many nice people at lvl 1-40. Most people never get higher than 42 so its good to pvp because there are always some legit lvl people around your lvl that you can pvp with. Each time I make a new character I make more and more friends at1x or 2x. Playing my 5x character is kinda pointless though. CCF weapons and botters make it not fun to be 5x or higher.
