Well, I think what he said may actually hold some water if he actually traced the right url! You traced silkroadonline.com, not silkroadonline.net[/b]

From a routing standpoint..the route ends up in the same place.
However, .net is the recursive answer so a tracert won't resolve..not even if you trace the IP. .net does not have the info, so the only way is to go to the authoritatve answer. (You don't think that these two domain suffixes are in different countries?)

You can't resolve the .net address through your ISP?....

It's the same even if you try to resolve a tracert to silkroadonline.net through a 3rd party site (non Adelphia/TWC)

you can use: centralops.net ... What happens? :

Quote:
from centralops.net [70.84.211.98]
to silkroadonline.net

Lookup of silkroadonline.net failed.

Now ask this recursive server to nslookup the IP:
domain silkroadonline.net

[70.84.161.11] returned a non-authoritative response in 31 ms:
Answer records
name class type data time to live
silkroadonline.net IN NS ns.silkroadonline.net 172800s (2d)
silkroadonline.net IN NS ns2.silkroadonline.net 172800s (2d)

silkroadonline.net IN NS ns.silkroadonline.net 172800s (2d)
Additional records

All I know is once I get switched to Comcast I "shouldn't" have a problem accessing SRO.

THEY SPEAK ENGLISH!!!!!!!!!
Anyways they told me they know about they issue and trying to solve it and they are also talking to al lthe isp and trying to see what can be done to fix it. They are saying the issue is between the isp and joymax. So again they are trying and you can call if you like. :)

They are friendly too. ;) just before u call then dial 011 then their number... well hope i helped us by calling joymax.

I just don't get it why they can't fix their nameserver issues, like shown on http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsrepor ... online.net
I mean one my friend is responsible for university nameserver and he had no problems configuring it. So when i showed him those silkroad website dns reports he was like "omg i didn't know it's possible to make so many errors in two nameservers lol".
This owns.

Ive still never actually played the game yet. Ive just seen tons of my friends on xfire always playing it so i figured i would give it a try. Not suprising my ISP doesnt work with the game. Im moving out of state at the end of the month anyways so ill try again with a different provider. Good luck though with this problem, sounds frustrating as all hell.

Adelphia is starting to suck and piss me off, i got lag for the past 3 days on my computer, im supposed to have 6800 kbps, i was only getting about 2000 kpbs, so i call them up and the lady is telling me i need to ping to yahoo.com, but i was trying to explain that i had been pinging all day on just about every site possible and it just came back with crappy pings. So she says its just my computer, clean out my cookies, etc.

I hear now that other people in my area with adelphia have the same problem, maybe they should clean their cookies also? I dont think so!

It may just be a large amount of people that use it in your area. I had that problem for the first two months I had the service. I complained every day and got the first 4 months free. The SRO problem is the first problem I've had since then. I have the 4 meg connection and

Download speed: 4679 kilobits per second
Test details: 3354 kilobytes downloaded in 5.734 seconds.

You can actually call for free. This is an article from abcnews.com. As long as you can call Iowa! ;)

What is the number for Joymax?

http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/story? ... 255&page=1

Quote:
"...We tried it, and it works. You call 712-858-8883, and a recorded voice answers, inviting you to hear brief instructions in English, Spanish or Chinese. Then you dial 011, the country code (51 for Peru, for instance, or 359 for Bulgaria) and the local number. If someone is there and awake to answer at the other end, you can talk to the other side of the planet — for whatever it cost you to make a call to Iowa...."

Ok just for an example .... cable connection is a shared connection. So more pplz gets on the slower it gets. You can b!tch the sh!t out of Adelphia and they can't do Sh!t. All they can do is give you bs reason. But DLS on the other hand is diff. Every Customer have their private lines and no one sharas your speed. But bad thing with dsl is if you are more then 12000 wire feet away from the main office (small office with lots of hardwares for internet =D) you start to drop your speed as far you go. hope i helped you with the cable issue.
