The latest piece of advice I found on the subject is to download and install the following 2 pieces of MS software:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... up_enu.exe
From the reactions I read it seems to work for some people at least. :)

hey.. i got the samething too. my card is a ATI Mobility Radeon 9600. please tell me which one i should download. and do i have to uninstall my current drivers? if so which ones?

For XP Pro/Home, here's the link. http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/radeonx-xp.html. Pick the "Catalyst Software Suite."

hey iv read like 4 posts on this problem.

I get the C++ error i updated drivers as i should and restarted i DLed the 93.71_forceware_winxp2k_english_whql for my Nivida GeForce 5200 FX
here is my lovly specs

Did you follow the proper driver install procedure?
You're supposed to uninstall current drivers, reboot, then install new ones, then reboot.
Have you tried vcredist?

i had the same problem but i fixed it i tried every possible way how i fixed it was reinstall windows xp. the reason y it happen i believe was because of game gaurd or my graphic card, i tried to mess with my game guard and ever since than that happen but everything is fixed now, so reinstall windows xp/vista if u wanta keep playing,,
