Nope. I don't even bother turning them on.

While we're on the topic: stand with your back against the city wall with the wall's shadow falling over you. What on earth is your own shadow doing on top of that? If you're in the shadow of a structure, your own shadow should not be visible.

i got them off again now, but its kinda annoying that i can play elder scrolls 4 with all the settings higher than the higest in the options (because i tweaked it) at 60fps but i cant run silkroad with shadows on at anything higher than 15fps.

However its done its not very efficient. I have 2GB of ram, an AMD dual core 4200+ and a 640MB 8800GTS and i still get low fps when the stupid shadows are turned on! even if i look up into the sky where there are no shadows!
It's because you have a GTS card. The 'S' obviously stands for 'suck'.

Once again, it's because you run the infamous 'S' card. You people need to do some research!
GT/X/O are the only cards that are good from nVidia.
And on the subject:
I have a shitty 939 3800+ 2nd Gen, 7900GTO 512, and 2gigs of OCZ 3500. Detailed shadows sux 4 me!

I think it may be a driver issue. I run a GTX card myself, and especially in town I do notice slowdown with shadows. I'll have a look at updated drivers soon to see if that improves the situation.
