I want to start modding in SRO, butt first of al I want to ask some questions.

*What does pk2 modding exactly? (is it just changing the attacking moves or the clothes or is it much harder?)

*Has pk-modding influence on your level?

That's it for now, butt I'm sure I will post another questions in this topic.

Pk2 editing is just replacing textures, models, etc (that kind of stuff) for another ones in the same file i.e. changing the degree of the clothes or the appearance of mobs-wolfs. It's just for looks if youre tired of seeing the same stuff over and over again, as far as i know.

So, it doesn't influence your level, you just look better (or worse if you have bad taste  )

Anyway, there are guides to do it on the forum, just look a bit in the stickies.

Can someone explain me the sentence of the word 'degree'? What is it and what does it do exactly?

Altough, thanks HyorunmarouZ for your explaination.

degree is the type of armor.
if you look at the site http://www.silkroadonline.net you will see
that every degree has his own look. degree just means it
belongs to a complete set.

Degree i something like the "stage" or the "level" of the clothes. YOu see, atm (until the new cap) there are 8 degrees of clothes and weapons.
1st degree - lvl1
2nd degree - lvl8
3rd degree - lvl16
4th degree - lvl 24
5th degree - lvl 32
6th degree - lvl 42
7th degree - lvl 52
8th degree - lvl 64

That's how it works, with pk2 editing you could make your lvl 16 weapon look like a lvl 64. And the same for every other degree (or stage).

So, all the clothes which are level 1 til 8 are the 1st degree? And the 2nd degree is all the clothes from level 8 til 16?

\clothes_09 (garment 9th degree)

Silkroad official website.
But 9th degs are in the korean website.. and im too lazy to post the screens right now... take a look at "www.silkroad.co.kr" i think that's the homepage of ksro, the format is the same as the isro site. There are a few pictures of clothes and weapons from 1st deg to 9 deg.
Besides not all the clothes from lvl 16 to lvl 24 are 3rd deg, there are some 2nd, But 3rd deg starts at lvl 16
For example, you can have a 2nd deg lvl 18 chest piece, but 3rd deg chest is lvl 21...
lvl 16 - hands
lvl 17 - shoulder
lvl 18 - feet
lvl 19 - head
lvl 20 - legs
lvl 21 - chest

So if you find lvl 18 chest doesn't mean it's 3rd deg. Same goes for the other degrees.
5th deg "starts" in lvl 32 but not all the pieces the go on lvl 32,33,34,35,36 and 37

You edit your own files, the files of other people aren't modified.
So they should see everything normal, no changes for them, unless they do some editing too.
