I am thinking of making an AOE glavier. I would ONLY be adding to heuksal/fire/lightning (NO ICE). So....

I was thinking of only adding ONE POINT to the FIRST BOOK of:
-Lion's shout (for 2m radius effect and 3 simultaneous attacks)
-Wolf's Thunderbolt (for 10m transfer range distance)
-Flame Wave Arrow

I figure, since I am not an INT build, that I would only be using these skills to round up the monsters.
I will also be adding to all the other necessary heuksal/fire/lightning attacks/buffs for a glavie.

ARE THE ABOVE SKILLS A GOOD IDEA TO GET?

I know exactly what you're talking about because i leveled from 1 - 64 using AOE skills myself.

Ill tell ya that the lightning nuke and lion shout are okay for pulling mobs, but i dropped those and started using a bow and its a lot better. Just grab a lvl 1 bow and 1 stack of arrows to start. You get all the arrows you need from drops.

I have my skills set up like this...
1. Auto Attack (you can find in the action menu)
2. Flying Dragon Spear (penetrates ~3 enemies)
3. (Your Buff)
4. Jade Breaking Spear (hits 3 enemies in front)
5. Ghost Spear Book 1 (hits 5 enemies around)
6. Ghost Spear Book 2 (hits 5 enemies around)
7. Empty
8. Vigor Grains (just in case you get too low on hp)
9. Bow
0. Glaive

I keep my fingers on 2-3-4 and move them accordingly, but thats all up to you. Right click on the bow to switch.. click on mob and hit 1 to attack and pull it. Once you got 5 or 6 on you, right click glaive and do skills 3-4-5-6 untill all are dead.

Flying dragon spear is for pulling some towards you while youre already fighting... keep the action going!

So to sum it up, you dont need to waste your SP on nukes and shouts :)

maybe this answers your question :D
http://youtube.com/watch?v=nrx17k6CwWU
would skip the lionshouts since its damage is quite minimal compared to the nukes (its already low but why not get the maximum damage you can make out of your luring mobs)

i would suggest to get wolf and tiger thunterbolt
leave arrow on 1 and get burning or wide

3 long range aoe skills should be more than enough to spice up your grind

So in other words, screw the nukes and just use a bow to lure over monsters?
And I should also max the heuksal spear series (for jade breaking spear)?
BTW.....this explanation is a lot of help. THANX!

I'd rather not due to the fact that I am not a blader and do not wish to use my skill points just to get one skill lol. :)

I don't understand the usage of "auto attack".
Does auto attack literally make the char go around killing everything automatically?

Neither do I....lol
Is it the same as double-clicking a monster?
Would like a response.

The bow trick is something that I see very frequently when I was on the ice. I suggest you that dont do it with other legit around because normally no other mob spawn meanwhile the previous are alive, so you let the other people without monsters to kill. I remember that once a glavier came where I was killing and try to took my grinding spot with this technique, I politely ask him to stop it and he say me "if you dont like go" so Ive started to send my berzerk arrow at the middle of his group as soon as he collect 4 penons. It was cool because he was putting all the mobs together for me, sorry that the glavier decide to quit doing that and look for another spot because i was making good XP and he was getting none :D .
