I've lost the count of how many times this have been said, but JM only bans pk2 edits that hurts the fair gameplay of the fellow players, as long as the changes only affect your game, your computer, and no harm is done to other players of any kind (wether it is an edit focused on affecting other's gameplay or something unfairly beneficial for you), there is no punishment from JM.
@desolator
So let people enjoy this new stuff, some of them might be bound to a cloth set or weapon because in their level they get too low xp and the game turns into something monotonous. What's wrong in wanting to see something different? Even if you don't agree, who are you helping by "threatning" them with ban? It's their problem if they edit or not. If you will not help, then don't flame.
While I disagree with desolator's "ZOMG you're gonna get banned!!!" approach in responding to these threads, there is some possible truth to that. By all means, go ahead and make your pk2 edits. I'm sure Joymax won't directly ban you because you turned all palm trees in the game into the Statue of Liberty. However, I think the issue with pk2 edits and possible bans is if Joymax someday implements a more automated mechanism to ban bots, that software might see these pk2 edits as an illegal change in the software. That "bot-detection" software won't necessarily know *what* was changed, just that something was changed.
A change = modified client = possible ban in the future. Sure, nothing will happen for now, but keep in mind the possibility IF Joymax ever implements any automated mechanisms. If they do, just restore the original pk2 files.
Until then, I guess have fun.
