Hey,

I'm 79 farming on mages at the moment, but they seem to be so botted up, it really drives me nuts trying to zip all over the place just to find a mob to kill.
I'm thinking of moving to royal gaurds/generals since they seem to be botted up mostly by str bots, and them, at least I can ks as a pure int with an good armor set granted I don't get a block.

My problem is, I already had a sun drop at mages....armor head, and had a sun spear ks'd from me by a 80 24/7 botter hybrid int w/zerk...jerk. So I would rather still have better chances at sun drops over a less stressful place to grind.

Do gaurds and generals still give you a fair shot at sun? I know anything above 70 has the chance of dropping sun, but some mobs just seem to give better odds.
Anyone here know of sun dropped by generals, or had one drop themselves?

Which monsters drop lvl 16 sosun bow? Random? So that means high lvl monsters will drop lvl 16 sosun bow? I dont think so.........

you cant explain, SUn is toally random, some guy got a lvl 42 SUN bow from PENON warriors, and other guy got a 64 SOS shield from PENON fighters, so there is no explanation.

Actually from my observation mobs drop Seal items either 1 grade below, the same grade or 1 grade above, but not more.

Monsters in Taklamakan (bone soldiers and up I think? Someone confirm?) are supposed to drop 9D equipment. But, because the 9D stuff is not out yet, they drop the next best thing down the list - 8D SUN. So its as if there were double the chance. This is why theres so much 8D SUN, but very little 8D SOM (SOM is still dropped as normal).

So youre guide is wrong.

As for the original question, I would THINK that the higher lvl the monster, the better the chances... but I dont know. I just know Takla is full of sun waiting to be dropped.

Thats BS! You train at generals your drop chance are 80% lower compare to mage.

bone soldiers arent 76+, so this means they cant drop 9 DEG stuff ( ass 9 deg stuff starts @ lvl 76 ), so this means your statement is wrong

V is correct. So if you want to have the best chance of a sos/som/sosun, 8D you would have to grind on the lowest level mob that drops 8D tabs.

The higher the level the mob the fewer drops you get. Also obviously you would kill quicker.
Of course you could still end up with 7D sosun.

Yup, i dunno what lvl Mr.heroo is but his info is totally ludacris. It's a well known fact mages drop the most sun. Amount of mages + amount of dropped sun is FAR better than amount of snipers + amount of sun found.

Sun does get dropped to at Niya generals, but on very rare occasions ... a m8ey got sun garm legs whilst protecting my murder stat there. But in general Niya Generals have a FAR lower chance of sun drop.

a monster thats supposed to drop 9th has higher chances.. i mean, u got the chance of finding a "normal" 8th sun. plus u got the chance of a 9th sox, which will be a sun8th for you.

It is random. Some monsters drop more than other. Of course, specific types of monsters drop a specific range of items. Just ignore heroo.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but you have to take into account the number of people grinding at each spot. On all three servers I've been on, there have been a lot more people grinding at mages vs generals. Of course more people = more chance of sun being found.

I was trying to make that point T_T. Hens me saying the ratio of mages to dropped sun is a lot higher than anywhere else.

Is that actually true or do more people grind on mages then anything else in Takla? Has anyone taken in consideration the number of people that grind on Mages and compared that number to the number of those that grind on any thing else and compared the number or SoSun drops?

If you have 100 people grinding on Mages and there are 50 SoSun drops that is a 1:2 drop per person ratio (50%). If there are 10 people grinding anything else and there are 9 SoSun drops the ratio is 9:10 (90 drops for every 100 people), which is a much higher drop rate (90%). These numbers are just examples, but seeing as how everyone says that Mages drop more SoSuns then the more people that will grind Mages, which means more total SoSun drops, but does not necessarily mean a higher drop rate.

Theres like .. 4x as many snipers as mages. Yet from experience and asking where suns got dropped, I can safely say mages drop the most.

ur 79...so niya guards should still be green to you & yes, they can drop sun just as any other higher lvl mobs (got a sun shoulder from them & a friend got a sun chest), not to mention they still drop tabs & have a higher drop rate then mages/generals...& it's not as crowded as mages/generals

From what I've seen I see more people grinding on snipers and hunters. From what most people (who have Sosun) have told me, they have gotten sosuns from mages and shamans.

A lot more people will grind snipers and hunter because of the tab drops. I have yet to get a tab from a higher level mob then a Niya hunter.

Mage Ornament are about the only good common drop .

FYI, niya hunters do not drop 8d tabs, only niya snipers...& if there was a lvl 75 mob (which there isn't atm), only up to lvl 75 mob will drop 8d tab (niya sniper is lvl 74 mob)

I can back him up on this on another thread he made a big post explaining XD. So with this reasoning...since no1 is grinding on say devil eyes is why we have so few SOM?
