Post subject: Is it worth to buy a wolf (as full str)? Posted: Thu Jul 05, 2007 9:30 am |

Well a wolf is pretty expensive (1mil + pots) and it also needs exp to lvl-up.
Since full int's can kill mobs with 1 nuke, they don't need a wolf, but what about full str's, especially bladers, who lvl very slow?
A wolf could help them to lvl faster, but it would also cost them a lot.
What do you think?

Wolves are definitely helpful for STR based characters.
And it's not really that expensive. Purchasing it might be, but it doesn't require much money afterwards, if you just keep an eye on it, it will rarely die and those few hp and hgp pots won't totally drain your hard earned money.

How is it not worth it at all to have a little extra dmg or tanking ability? :d
Yes, it is.

Wolf is a bladers best friend ^^
I am Glavie user myself and with my wolf I can kill penons with 1 skill and my wolf does the extra 500+ damage to kill it. Otherwise I need another hit.

A wolf is ALWAYS usefull for EVERY build.
It's extra damage... you gotta be able to figure that out..

Im pure INT and my wolf is still pretty helpful. My wolf is my tank sometimes. Also when when I get into hardcore grind mode and can't 1-hit something I'll let my wolf finish it off while I move on. Wolves are just awesome to have, but so many people want them right away and don't realize that after you've spend the 1 Mil you've still gotta buy yourself pots.. gears.. etc. So it would be best to wait until you have at least 1.5-2 mil saved up.

Extremely helpful for a STR. We cant kill as easy as a INT, any extra damage helps. Besides that I get a mob of things start something off, when its close to dieing i target the next and start attacking as my wolf gets a hit or two and dies. It lets you save time and prolly mp this way. You get used to just what dmg your wolf does, it makes you need to do less dmg per monster since he always takes a certain amount of hp by himself. Should not get it so low like everyone does, but yes wolves are great.

Congratz on 6x Hito......I was pure STR on Troy and bought a wolf as soon as I could (until I got hacked ) and, much like everyone said here, it was great helping me with tanking, taking down giants, or just letting him keep low level aggressive mobs away from me when I wanna break. Plus there are some times (believe it or not) where you are far away from town grinding completely by yourself and it gets lonely so the wolf helped as I had another grinding buddy. He is a great mob finisher as you move on to the next.
I am currently leveling a hybrid bow but I will buy a wolf again when I have the gold.......buy one if you can afford it.....or wait a while when you have plenty of gold and buy it then. Depending on the mobs you are fighting, he will level fast anyway so wait a while if it is gonna leave you with hardly enough gold to buy pots for yourself.

Don't know for higher lvls, but for lvls 40-50 if you grind in white mobs, you don't need a lot of pots for the wolf, in fact i'm using more hpg than hp.

Yep, very helpful as str char... move + nibble, ftw. You can move to another mob while wolf finishes 1st one off for you.
Also very helpful as Int. Helps to tank harder mobs, (especially aggro) while you attack from a safe distance to thin out the group.
So yes, in both cases - but STR will benefit a lot more from the extra damage.

Everyone has their own opinions, just because his opinion is different from yours doesn't mean you have the right to call him a moron.

whatever if you are Int or str , it is worth to have a wolf for extra dmg and is fun to have a wolf..More they grow you not need alot off potions for the wolf ..so they are not so expensive to have them later at all.
