Ok, for the last time people, English is THE De Facto language in the international community. When you see something going on internationally, people either have translators to work with each other, or they speak English.
Like it or not, English is the language of the international community, and to use anything else in something which is supposed to be international is an insult to everyone else.
I've met people from all over the globe- English speakers from Canada, Australasia, the USA, the UK; but also people from Japan, China, Romania, Russia, Mexico, France- who have no problem speaking English. I'd rather deal with someone making an effort to speak broken English than someone disrespecting everyone around them by not.
It's the same way as you don't speak your own language in another country. If I went to Japan, you can be sure I'd at least make an effort to speak Japanese, and if I went to Germany, I'd make an effort to speak German. I wouldn't speak English and hope they understand me, that would be rude.
