The worst one are Kokorus & Peritons because the F....... mobs are so fast, can come again from the knock-back in no time. Anyway, the only trick is watch your hp gauge, use Vigor, and if hp go half, let the wolf tank the mob until you recover.
PD: Tou can Start (and finish)with Xbow, but its better to switch to dague, you will kill the giant a bit faster.

haha i killed a few crabs lvl 21 when i was lvl 16. i am lvl 17 now i used only 2 pots (no wolf btw.)
