Vista is fine. However, according to the ram metres, it idles using 1gb ram. I assume that people who have had problems with it are either:
a) using a bad bootleg copy
b) do not have enough ram
c) are using a 64 bit processor
d) have a release copy and have not updated
I have vista on my desktop and laptop, Adobe suite, Office suite, 2 moons, and counterstrike source work fine. With the new features it's actually easier for me since I run a 4 pc + 2 wireless device network at home.
People QQing about vista reminds me of people QQing about counterstrike source; or, like when XP and ME were released and people whined.
Vast majority of people i've talked to that cry that vista is horrible have never tried it, heard of people who have tried it, had it for a day and most probably installed the wrong version, or had capability issues.

I tried to get bootleg dvd burner on it and it said vista does not support this, then i got the non bootleg demo and it worked.
What has Microsoft come to?

I burned a DVD copy on my laptop with power ISO, but for the actual install I just mounted it to a virtual drive. The installer copies all files to your harddrive anyways.
Also, cool feature, it backs up all your documents, old windows version, and program files. Even if you choose to not upgrade, and get a fresh install, it backs everything up and allows you to just drag your old files (or delete them) from c:\windows.old

I bought a new Toshiba laptop about 2-3 weeks ago from Circuit City during their big sale: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Toshiba- ... tDetail.do
Has Vista Home Premium installed on it. I can't connect to the Farking Internet on it. My Dad's more or less works wonders with computers, but he can't connect to the Internet. He's been puzzled for three days now. It keeps saying that I need to be an Admin account, but I only HAVE one account, and that accounts an Administrator. And it won't let me run tons of programs or install programs because it says I need to be an Administrator, rofl.
Vista looks cool, and it has some nice new functions that I really appreciate. But they still have some kinks that they need to work out, I think. Some of it may have to do with me still having to get used to the new Interface. So many things have changed over from XP.

My connected instantly. I didn't even have run the network wizard, it did it on its own. Never had any problems with the admin setup, although you might want to try turning off UAC.

That's strange. I'm connecting to a Wireless network though, and it won't just connect automatically. You still have to enter the WEP key for the first time. Then you can set it so whenever it comes within range of your Wireless router, it'll automatically connect, but you still have to connect the first time. Or something, lol.
I'm not very computer savvy.
My Dad said that when I first turned on the computer when I bought it, there should have been some sort of option when I was setting it up to set up an Admin account. I don't know what the hell he's talking about. It just told me to set up an account. I typed in my name, and then it loaded up. That was it.
