Why do they do it? It's painfully obvious there is no need to. For that matter, the captcha??? wtf? has that stopped any bots at all?, ok maybe 1%, but there was a margin of error of 3% on that statistic (meaning the challenge of a captcha actually attracted 2% more bots to break it).

Reasons to reboot the client and make ppl type captchas:
1. To make the premium ticket oh so much more attractive.
2. Erm ... anyone think of another?

the DC message in the loginscreen could easily be changed if only Joymax wanted to. They are just trying to annoy non-PTers

it was better the time i just started playing SRO.

we just had to type in our username and password and hold enter until the code pops up, it was first one to type in the code gets in .. if not you disonnect .. i reckon that was better. maybe they changed it because there were to many pro touch typers out there

i wonder if Joymax would get rid of the "discconected from server" if we spam threads about this in the offical sro forums ..

I think they would just ban or mute you.

FYI noobs, all you had to do (a few months ago) to log into a bot ridden server was continuously click (or press enter as someone mentioned) "login" ... untill about 1 month before the PT came out. At that point captcha's and client reboots became the norm

i miss the days of just earlier this year before the stupid code and traffic dc where you just held enter and it said server traffic...connecting....server traffic...connecting lol till you got in. Yeh WoWs so much cheaper. PT sp ticket and grabber pet revive is nearly 30 US a month goddam robbers (2WoW memebrships CMON). Next year if noone gets banned at 90 cap or when it comes Im takin my wolf n squirrel and were leaving for WoW.

You're telling me you can be as accomplished at SRO without paying any money? You can choose to not pay, but you will fail miserbly and go at a much slower pace then everyone else. Seeing as how this is a PVP game and 80% of the game uses bots, I'd say its a pretty competitive game, and the only people you will see not paying a dime are people who are new, or just fewls. I suppose theres the random hardcore few who play without paying (not being able too) but that is a very rare breed indeed.

Our choices are... Getting a Premium Ticket just to sign and that's what $20? Or you can try for about an hour to login without any hope whatsoever.

When I get my paycheck in 2 weeks I'm going straight to WoW, I'm tired of wasting my $$ on a bunch of greedy bastards with the shittiest game I've ever played. I can only think of a couple good things about this game and that is PvP and Jobbing, the rest are negatives like bots bots bots bots, gold bots gold bots gold bots gold bots, no GM's in game, alot of disconnects, alot of bugs and system crashes, grinding time ( I wonder how many hours/days/months we've wasted just trying to lvl or sp farm... now I'm scared), lack of quests, no team play because everyone just gets powerleveled, Server Capacity/ # of servers / no Character transfers to another server ( for the money they get from us they should have like 100+ servers I'm sure or just upgrade them so the servers we have can have a higher capacity)

So in the end you spend $20+ on this POS game when you could be playing something like WoW which is what $13-$15 a month and you have none of those negatives.

SRO is free to try to login but it comes down to if you buy a ticket it's P2P or you can try for hours to login for free and it's F2P.

hmm option 1. take 1 month to go from lvl 70 - 71 with no silk. Option 2, take 10 days to do the same with silk. difficult choice.

It's a free game..... if you chose it to be free for yourself. You don't have to pay a dime to play this game. Some choose to pay, some choose not to. For those people, it's free.

I have never paid a dime for this game, and I've been playing this "not free" game for free for over a year and a half. Sure, +11 is nearly impossible to get without paying real cash, but +11 isn't required to play. I've never had above a +5.

It's like this. It's FREE to walk into a bar, but when you order and pay for a meal you expect some fn service ... or perhaps you don't. Perhaps you're one of those losers that goes out with his mates and never buys a meal or a beer, and when ur friend says wow this place is crap that meal was a rip off you sit there and go "Well this is a free bar, you didn't have to buy it, why don't u leave so us non paying customers can enjoy not eating"

If this was a free game for all, then it would not exist. Period.

It can technically be classified and publicised as a free game, but in reality anyone with half a brain knows it is not free at all. It is an expensive game to compete at an average standard in.

Your bar analogy doesn't quite work. There's not much you can do in a bar for free except hang out and chat. You can't really enjoy the services the bar offers. I think that'd be like logging onto SRO to just chat and run around.

You can do a lot more than that in SRO without paying. I do agree that if you pay, you should get service, and good service at that. Don't get me wrong.

I'm just saying there's plenty to do in SRO for free.

If you have 752+ mb of ram... I highly reccomend doing this.

back on topic...read on srt, there was this fella saying theres a way to pk2 edit or something such that the client doesnt close and was able to monitor server status till it wasnt full and then logged in?

point is the bar would not exist if I didn't pay rediculous prices for food and drink there. SRO would not exist if I didn't pay rediculous ammounts of money for silk.
