when u go bow.... there is no much a need to add nukes at all ...... its a waste of sp..... thats if u go hybrid bow....


but if the crazy pure int bow...... u can add somenukes

one thing i suggest that u go garments, or prot.and light ice mastery

going others will get u dropped......


anyway i will nvr go against anyone with their own choice of builds.... most impt is u have your fun...... dun be discouraged if u are that determined =)

yes i have decided to go pure int, fire imbue. and basically since bowers have stun now, i have to rely on that since ice immunity.
Why follow others paths when you can start your own.

My experiance has been that the bow skills work better for a pure Int Bow than the nukes do ... though there is nothing wrong with nuking if that is what you want.

Fire imbue is probably the best imbue for an Int Bow at the lower levels but you might want to consider switching over to Lightning for your imbue once you get within 10 levels of the level cap or so.

Have fun ... it is a really interesting build to have.

cos of cap in mastery...... its 300..... u have to choose wisely.... but best is still ice and lightning for ur pure int build..... rmb, to get mp and hp bonuses in ur head chest and legs gears.

Why do you want to go bow if you are nuking? If you will be nuking your hardly going to be using your bow skills. And if you are using your bow skills your hardly going to be nuking >.>

But if its what you really want to do, 78% intl hybrid. Still has a nice amount of hp, nukes and bow skills should do roughly the same damage. If not you can always alter it.

Just make a full STR bow, bow's aren't meant for nuking, if you want to nuke make an s/s or spear. Even if you do make one of them you won't get it strong. it'll be weak and have rubbish crits, why do you think the majority of people have stuck with full STR?

cause a majority of people on these forums have never got to lv 80 with a bow build and run their mouths just cause they assume bows would be only for str builds.

I am a 70:70 build, and I use light nuke all the time. Ice nuke occasionally. If i was any more str they would be rendered useless. So Nuking works for any balance from70% to pure. No matter what you do you will mix bow skills and nukes.

IMO snow shield is a must. You can run 40% max with 70:70

I will say I am not a fan of pure ints in general, so obviously I don't like pure int bow.

I have fought 2 different pure int bowers in my career, and I could 1 strongbow 1, and the other took a strongbow and arrow combo.

Actually now that I think about it I have always beaten the pure str bowers around my lvl as well. So yeah I guess bow just sucks?

Anyway Im sure at cap with different skills different balances will have different pros and cons. (im only 65)

Whatever you decide you really need to stick with it. MY character was horrible at pvp until around lvl52.

The Lightning imbue has splash damage or "transfers" while a Fire imbue does not. This splash damage causes attacks from multiple mobs which can be hard on an Int build, especially at the lower levels when you don't have much HP. When you are near the level cap being attacked by multiple mobs is not as much of a problem.

And Lightning has the Grass walk and Ghost walk series ... and Lion Shout series which are all very useful for an Int build. More useful than the Str passive or shield buffs you get from Fire in my experiance.

I know everyone says Str or 70:70 for a Bow build ... and I am sure both those builds work well for many people. But a pure Int bow is fun too ... and is my favorite character to play.

Pure int bow MAY work...especially since there's ice shield but only if it's 73+.

Then you can get the KB skill for bow. Your damage would be insane since int hurts more than str on average...

I would suggest, if you REALLY want bow and REALLY want nukes, go pure int bow. People will tell you it sucks, but honestly, no one has ever done it at this cap. Try it.

I wanted to, but then I realized I really like the sword combos...and want the lightning chain. However, it's up to you.

Once again, if you want to go the nuking route, go pure int bow, grind with a spear though (since a spear's magical damage is much higher than a bow). For pvp use bow and bow skills. The distance for nukes and for bow are barely different...in my mind...24-ish (with buff) for bow...and I think 12 for fire nuke...If that makes a huge difference, tell me. I would be excited to learn. =)

<-- Personally, I'm pure int spear, changing to S/S. If you want to try spear nuking, I think I have a noob (i.e. lvl 32 ish) that is pure int bow/sword/spear/ice/fire/light...I thought it would be all powerful...

anything but pure str is noob and will get killed.

jewishzombie: thanks, im planning on getting lightning imbue and im going to barely get ice to a mid 50s but i think the ice shield will be in a good amount of effect. thanks for the support and ill tell you how it goes.

Honestly, if you’re going to raise ice partially, might as well go all the way, the amount you gain later on is amazing (in phyz defense). If you’re going to be pure int bow, you need as much physical defense as you can get, fire isn’t as important (in relation to defense). If you want this build, my suggestion would be

Bow(80)/light(80)/ice(80)/fire(60)

Then delevel fire as needed.  it’s not that important if you’re pure int since your magical defense is already insane, but physical is incredibly low. Light, of course, needs to be maxed, since your damage is mostly magical.

Mmm…pure int bow…I wants to try. >.<
