If you can get yourself good enough garms, then go for it.

If you get good garments, then why not. If you're worried about being hit by physical attacks, just try to kill them before they get to you or bear with some attacks and use pots.

Wow Its like you read my mind, we are the same level and on the same server. I plan to do what u are about to do. I'm gonna stick with garm thru 8d then get an additional 8d prot set if its cheap enough. I might make my own.

Depends on your build weather you should go to Garm or what protection you need depends on what ur build is obviously

full int spear-armor

full str bow-prot/garm
full str glaive- garm/prot
full int s/s-prots/armor

im glaive and i wear prots to get a slight advantage against other str builds

I know this doesn't help but I just switched to garment from protector. The difference doesn't seem that great, I mean it is noticble but..... So it takes a nuker 1 more lion shout to kill me, maybe 2more. And glaviers do crit me harder. I don't know, garms cost more, but the speed increase is nice. My garm set isn't quite on par with my protector set, but aweful close.

IMO having 2 sets is silly, unless they are both perfect blued sun+5. Otherwise you would be better off putting the money for 2 sets into 1 really good set.

The garms help a lot in the nachal room. If you are int+garms+nachal=dream come true. If you are str, then you wont like nachals.

Lol the physical defense difference between garm and protector is negligible while the magical defense difference is huge. In other words...switch to protector and now the glaivers have to use mars after em porer to kill you, meanwhile now your a one shot for nukers as well =)

you are assuming that 1 point of phys defense equals 1 point magic defense. Most likely it is more like 1.2 magic = 1 phys. I just made that up, but its the concept I am trying to get across.

1.2 magic = 1 phys I agree with you and that is a conservative estimation but the point is. Which is more important? Surviving that extra instant hit at the end of a glaivers combo or surviving that lion shout that follows a horses thunderbolt?

If you had to make a decision to pick only a single armor type, then the selection of armor is a decision based on the balance of your needs in pve (since you are farming and not yet capped) and pvp commitments (helping in jobbing with guild/union etc, or personal pvp fun). Pve is easy since you could plan where you want to train, and for how long; pvp however is much more difficult and the pros and cons balances each other out.

If you are a pure str char, your massive hp for your level gives you a buffer against the cons that a particular armor type would normally give you, but a pure int or int hybrid char would suffer more :s. So for a full str char build you could stay full prot to cap or switch to garms; for a full int or int heavy hybrid you have a bit more thinking to do (the pros and cons, balances each other out).
