I want to buy a new comp which would make me able to play smoothly without dcing/restarting/lagging and so on
My problem is i dont know shit about gfx cards and processors!!!
Here's the comp im looking at, and seems nice, plz tell me what you think
processor intel dual core E2140 / 1.6GHz
2 xDDR2 1 Go 667MHz RAM (KINGSTON)

All this for 564€ I already have a monitor, mouse and keyboard aint a problem.

I think its a good deal, the gfx card is pretty decent if you want to run the game on high settings then yeh your better off with 8800 gt/gtx. Btw is it xp or vista? Cause i hear vista eats chunks of the ram to run.

I had that option when I plugged in my usb key, but I don't think 2.0 ports would be able to quickly handle the data transfer like a normal stick of ram would.
You can buy really cheap ram off the internet, for the same price (if not cheaper) than an equal sized USB stick.
Also, don't try running vista without atleast 2gb of ram, if you're going to be using anything: office tools, games, etc. - I would suggest you get more than that 2gb.

It's runable - expect slow downs and system lag (as opposed to game lag)
I don't know why people always have that attitude regarding new computers; it's not worth blowing several hundred dollars to get something mediocre or bad - why don't you just wait a month, save up some money (find a job if you don't have one), spend a bit more and get something worth the money you spend.
If you really want to save money and don't care about performance, then don't waste your money on going half way. Buy a cheap motherboard+processor bundle, use the integrated graphics card - recycle your ram, powersupply, and cd drives.

Well, i do care about performance, i just mean no lag in low settings This comp lags even if i play solitaire so =/
Ofc its appreciated if i cna play in good settings :p I'm not the type of person who play, watch TV , downloads and speak on msn same time anyways...I shouldnt eat much RAM...
So to conclude i better search something else/economize a bit more?

yeah spending $500 for SRO is not worth it. imo, buying gt is not even worth it, I'd rather go pay for a company that has customer service. If your gonna get it, buy a nice PC game with it

The 8500 GT is no better than onboard. Bad
The LOWEST I would recommend for a comp right now is a 8600 GT or ATI 2600 XT...
2nd get a better proccesor...even if you overclock it, it still won't perform on par with today's games etc (some exeptions ofcourse), or it'll bottleneck your graphics card
3rd what motherboard are you getting? Harddrive? Power Supply? Disc Drive? Case? Heatsink?
4th are you planning on overlocking at all?
5th I'd recommend better ram, DO NO SLACK ON THE RAM , make sure the mobo you are getting supports it.
Head over to http://www.guru3d.com and post up on there if you want more opinions...

sro is the absolute worst game to judge a gfx card by.
i get like 130 fps in counter strike source, 120 on doom 3 and just around there on half life 2.
i can also run crysis.
but sro, omg.
still get like 20 fps in hotan.

RAM>all for many purposes.
I went from 512 MB of RAM in my Laptop (with a crappy 32 MB Graphics card and 1.8 GHz Centrino Processor) to 2 GB of RAM and the difference is night and day. Better load times. Same FPS in WoW, but I don't lag anymore when loading new areas. Plus I can't Alt-Tab very quickly compared to before and my hard drive doesn't heat up as much since the page file isn't used as much.
My point is: Get the maximum amount of RAM you can for your computer. It's the cheapest way to improve performance.

2 GB sticks for under 40 bucks for desktops. That's dirt cheap and you've got 4 GB of RAM (more if your comp has more than 2 slots) for less than the price of most other components.
Also, it really isn't that hard to build your own system, just takes a small bit of research and no prior experience and you get much better customization of your system. Plus, you can get a better computer for less.

coudn't have said it any better.
and if you do wish to buy a new computer, stick with the one you posted. it will run the games you play smooth. you could easily run newer games smooth as well. new computer + a ram stick which chuchu posted and your settled dude.

*Whispers in Krat's ear* Exactly. Don't listen to him. He switched to WoW, the noob.
Cuch's advice is actually (surprisingly ) pretty good. For a noob of course. Go cuch
Yeah get a nice new comp, get some extra ram, but don't expect that to solve all the lag in SRO . Only Joymax can do that.

dont you guys read the original post
this guy is a tech noob
dont know much
wants a basic game comp that will run SRO
not a tech discussion on vid cards
and has a price for euro$ not us$
check with Dell computers before you buy if you havent yet
and get most memory and vid card you can afford
you dont need the most Hard drive or fastest processor
but those are nice if for later upgrading of games
