Try these very long steps. If one doesn't work, then continue to the next until you either finish all steps or until it works. It would be nice to tell me where it works.
Open HOSTS File with notepad: (C\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts)
Delete everything and change it to:
127.0.0.1 localhost
222.111.150.111 nprotect.nefficient.com
80.15.232.4 nprotect.nefficient.com
222.111.150.111 gwgt1.joymax.com
See if it works. If not, keep going:
XP SP1:
1. In Control Panel, double-click Networking and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.
2. Right-click the connection on which you want to disable ICF, and then click Properties.
3. On the Advanced tab, click to clear the Protect my computer or network check box.
XP SP2:
1. Click Start, click Run, type Firewall.cpl, and then click OK.
2. On the General tab, click Off (not recommended), and then click OK.
If still not working:
Update all drivers, including sound and graphics, then update DirectX to 9.0c.
If still no:
Reboot and tap F8 as the system is starting. Select "Safe Mode with Networking". See if it works.
If no:
Update all drivers.
Still no?
Download VC6RedistSetup_Enu.exe. Agree to the license agreement, and extract the results to C:/. Go to C:/, and run vcredist.exe.
Still no again?
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
3. Make sure My Computer is selected.
4. On the File menu, click Export.
5. In the Save in box, select a location where you want to save the Registration Entries (.reg) file, type a file name in the File name box, and then click Save.
Delete GameGuard keys:
Hit CTRL + F and then search for Gameguard and NprotectGameGuard.
Delete any of these keys that show up.
Download and run nProtectRemover.exe from
http://members.cox.net/ddchen
Reinstall from
http://update.nprotect.net/gameguard/in ... eGuard.exe.
End. Post back where it works, or if you run through all and still doesn't work.
