MY GOD this is just beyond a JOKE really it is...................................................

i have just been reading over the news on the KOR web site for silkroad and saw this part that made my eyes POP out of my head.

KSRO made this much REAL money 1500000000 won [1,619,695 USD] yet ISRO made 1001500000000 won [ 1,081,416,693 USD.] SEE the BIG differants???

it was in this part of the news i saw it [ The Europe market sale increased rapidly and it increased recently at silk road on-line inside and outside of the country sale 1001500000000 won inside ]

i GIVE up with this KOREAN LOVING GAME as iam from a NONE-Korean back ground or country i dont see ISRO getting any better do you ?

its nice to know that we ISRO are keeping KSRO happy by PAYING for there servers as well.

am i wrong? NO rember Morningdew said that KSRO has other companys that pay them to run the game...if thats so then it shows that ISRO brings in more REAL money with out the need for a 3rd party company.

witch just sux.

here is the full news post in korean translate it your selfs.

i give up..................

I know that JM gets more revenue from isro than ksro but that is fking HUGE difference

maybe because the game is based in korea that would be why KSRO gets better support, and also the fact that the original game was KSRO not iSRO so obviously the first version is going to get more updates and better support first...also it is a free game afterall, you choose to pay for the cash shop items, they dont tell you to buy them, that's most likely why they have such bad customer support because they lack the staffing...For a free game with a cash shop which they didn't expect to get big, obviously there wouldn't be enough customer support

But wouldn't those statistic show that they could Hire over 50 new GM's or staff to work at Joymax, hire permanent ingame GM's. Pay for extra server space and maybe open at least 7 new servers. Maybe even lower the prices of silk. But there selfish and to be honest i think i'd just keep the billion xD

They have said before its hard to get new GMs. They have to trust them 1000% before you can give them any powers. This is why we only get 1 new GM every now and then

Makes me glad I stopped buying silk a looooong time ago. It's sweet that so many of you stick with SRO and are content to be the cash cow for an underpopulated Korean game. ISRO will never enjoy the same level of attention that the KR game gets. They get events, you get bugs. They get GMs, when you see one, its a 5 page thread on the forum. They pay next to nothing for silk, you support their ability to do so by making up the difference. ISRO has 500 times the number of players but do they bother to give us even the basics that they enjoy in the KR version? ISRO has been out for years... do they give you an equivalent of SUM? Or for that matter, any of the other information about what is coming up just to give you some hope that they are even doing anything? Just look at the news on the site. Its all about them trying to mop up their own mistakes. No content whatsoever. No "Meet your GM" posts, no events, no "future" information that even the noobest MMO usually has on it's site. Even the cartoonist quit.

There are a lot of new MMOs coming out soon. Almost everyone I know has quit SRO and gone off to try them.

To be honest, at this point, id rather play WOW than SRO. (And I think WOW suks, but at least Blizzard knows you are there)

That, doesn't really make any sense. If you hire a GM, give them powers, let them loose, and if they abuse it you FIRE them. They have the threat of losing their job if they perform poorly. If every employer had to trust an employee 1000% before letting them do anything you would never get anything done. There is a data backup to roll back to. If a GM screws up another GM can fix it. I smell BS with that excuse they gave.

Sad. I got excited after the big bot bans on Xian and Aege. I bought silk again to show my approval. Bot ban never came to Red Sea. I'm getting fed up with it now. There is no reason they haven't rolled in the updates. And now it shows we give them 1000 times the revenue that kSRO brings in, meanwhile we have no GM interaction, no moderation, bot/gold selling companies global with competing ads. It is insane.

EDIT: I just reread the parent topic, and something isn't right there. Those can't be actual figures of anything, the won amount for iSRO is simply the amount for kSRO with a 100 tacked onto the front. I don't read korean, but I want to know where these figures come from.

Ideaman,

First of all, if you translated the article correctly, it does not say anything about iSRO making over a Billion dollars like you said. I dont know how you came up with that number, but if you are going to copy and paste an official newspaper article, and translate it, do it correctly. Do you speak Korean? Do you speak it fluently enough to be able to translate an newspaper article? Or did you just use something like a google translator? I am Korean and Korean is my first language. When I read the full article, I did not see anything about the iSRO revenue. If you are going to blame someone using some kind of proof, you better have all the information correctly. Not just some mistranslated article that you post, and put some numbers in it and claim it as a correct translation. By the way, the only numbers that the articles reporter mentioned is around 1.5 million USD. Thats it. Nothing about how much iSRO has made.

From what I understand, it's not that Joymax has to trust a GM 1,000% in order to hire them. One of the requirements of being a GM is you have to live in, or relocate to, Seoul, Korea. They have this requirement because you need to be on Joymax's internal network in order to be "trusted" to have GM powers. They don't want to let GMs connect to their network from external networks. This is a GOOD thing. There are plenty of security issues to consider in allowing remote access to information systems.

Now if Joymax came up with some sort of secure, encrypted, remote VPN solution, perhaps that would help solve that problem. There are companies, including the one I work for, that provide hardware (FIPS 140-2 compliant in the US) to do that. I'm sure there's plenty of well qualified people that could do the work of a GM, but they just don't live in Korea, so those individuals do not currently have the means to securely connect into Joymax's network to do the job.

That's my take on what morningdew's people said anyway.

here i'll put it simple for you.

THEY DON'T GIVE A RATS A$$ ABOUT OVER SEA PLAYERS. only koreans.

Joymax is only in it for the money. if they actually cared about the game and took care of it like WoW makers, SRO would most likey be one of the greatest MMO's.

Ok, I can see that point at least, however it is a trivial issue, as you said a VPN resolves it. In my work I have about 40 different sites and networks to connect to, and many of them only allow remote access from within the network, so I just use a VPN. I set one up at work also. A firewall + VPN makes this matter moot, my company pays for my home to have a static IP, so I only allow admin VPN access to my IP and there is NO way anyone can get in there. I understand you are trying to make sense of what they said, but it is still BS to me.

lol GM comes with the "you dont know korean" defence, because joymax knows this will badly damage their income from ISRO, and they took use of the fact the majority of the Isro players do not understand korean and the remaining the do understand korean will just go to KSRO which won't really effect them and the rest will continue playing and this wont even effect them.

god dam cunning koreans, I believe the translator, korean boys always place their people before anyone else.

The new GMs you see on that list are all the ones that are currently located in the San Jose office. Relocating to Korea is not a requirement. I know tihs because Pred/silkypico is one of them and he is in the CA office. So is morningdew, or rather, the several ppl who use that forum account.
