So you want to build a pure str glavie eh? If not then get outa this thread! :)

First a pure str character has lots of hp. Why is this? Because you are going to put every point into str, which gives you hp!

So now lets actually get into the tutorial part of this.

You are strong, you can tank great ammounts of damage. You will not die easily. You will deal great amounts of physical damage. You are a pure strength glaviesman.

Being pure strength raises your physical defense greatly and leaves yourself weak to magic. Depending on your likes, you must choose what type of armor you want to wear.

Armor Types:
Quote:
[Armor]
You will have a very high physical defense, but a weak magical defense.

[Protecter]
You will have a high physical defense and a medium-low magical defense.

[Garment]
You will have a medium physical defense and a medium magical defense.

There are 3 forces you want to choose from: Ice, Lightning, Fire.

As a pure str build your going to want to use the fire force because it will be the strongest for you. This does not mean you cannot put a few levels into lightning for example to get grasswalk. But do not level your side-mastery greatly.

Image

You want to get these skills.

ImageFire Force Series

ImageFlame Body Series

ImageFire Protection Series

ImageFlame Devil Force Series(Passive)

So what does each skill do you ask?

ImageFire Force Series

Quote:
[Basic Description]
Is your imbue, it increases the damage of your attack.

Quote:
[Description]
Increases the attack power of Force by infusing the force of Fire into the weapon.

ImageFlame Body Series

Quote:
[Basic Description]
Increases your physical damage by a percent.

Quote:
[Description]
Increases physical damage by burning your own body.

ImageFire Protection Series

Quote:
[Basic Description]
Increases your Mag. Defense by an amount.

Quote:
[Description]
Exercises the Fire Force to increase the resistence against magics.

ImageFlame Devil Force Series(Passive)

Quote:
[Basic Description]
Passively increases your physical attack.

Quote:
[Description]
Increases permanently the physical damage by a specified amount.

So now you know what skills to get with the Fire Force, but how about the weapon mastery itself? Well read on and find out.

The Heuksal Mastery
Image

ImageSoul Departs Spear Series

ImageGhost Spear Attack Series

ImageChain Spear Attack Series

ImageFlying Dragon Spear Series

ImageCheolsam Force Series(Passive)

So what does each one actually do... well keep reading!

ImageSoul Departs Spear Series

Quote:
[Basic Description]
Does a heavy blow on a target dealing great damage.

Quote:
[Description]
The Soul Departs Spear skill is the most powerful of the Heuksal Spearmanship. You can inflict great damage to the enemy with this skill. The stricken enemy will pass out in an instant as if their souls have departed.

ImageGhost Spear Attack Series

Quote:
[Basic Description]
Swings around your glavie dealing damage to a maximum of 5 units all around you.

Quote:
[Description]
The Ghost Spear attack is used to block the chance of being attacked from behind while simultaneously attacking all enemies around you by a sweep of your spear.

ImageChain Spear Attack Series

Quote:
[Basic Description]
Does a series of combo attacks in a short period of time.

Quote:
[Description]
The Chain Spear attack enables you to a great amount of damage and attack a large number of enemies due to its large scale of movements.

ImageFlying Dragon Spear Series

Quote:
[Basic Description]
Throws your glavie at a target unit from a distance dealing great damage.

Quote:
[Description]
The Flying Dragon attack will sweep away all the enemies within the range.

ImageCheolsam Force Series(Passive)

Quote:
[Basic Description]
Increases the hitpoints of your character by an amount.

Quote:
[Description]
Increases permanently the maximum HP point by a certain amount.

Well now you know what skills to get, but what is the difference between a gllavie and a spear.

A glavie is used for physical damage and a spear is used for magical damage.
Since you are building a strength character you want to use a glavie.

You can tell the difference of a spear and glavie by hovering over the icon of the weapon in your inventory.

If it is a glavie it will display the following at the top.
Quote:
Weapon type: Glavie

When you use your stat points you want to put every single point into STR, else you are not a strength character. Remember this, it is very important.

There are no specific changes if you want to do any job, this build is fine for all jobs.

Well this is the end of the tutorial. It may seem a bit unclear but suggestions of fixing it up are welcome!

(this guide may be better in the character and skills forum)

Just a touch off-topic, but you forgot to include the little bit about infertility and such at the end of the fire-body description... lol

Anyway, you may also want to include variations of the build for each profession. For example Hunter may want to branch to lightning for the Walk series so he can help manage the caravan better, thief builds may want to bring theraputic circle, medicinal hand series, and the resurrect series so they dont have to be separated at the end of scuffles where only one or two players die, merchants may want to take force / lightning to keep a combination of walk and survivability of thier hunters. Speed helps alot for every job, but some characters dont really need it as much as others, but when you're riding a camel that 20% goes a long way.

I do not recommend getting the dancing demon spear skill as it is a weak skill compared to the other ones.

Grasswalk does not effect the mount you are on.

However the 2nd book for Dancing Demon spear is somewhat useful. It is quick to use and has a very short cooldown. It is perfect to use right before Chain Spear and even right after. Therefore I recommend it for that reason.

im pure str glaive im 42 atm but i have 39 light and 32 fire i was fire main when i started but grasswalk owns so much and my goal is to get the lvl 52 grasswalk where u run basically faster than the horse so i farmed for that a bit thinking about farming to get all my lvls to the same lvl but im lazy. Anyway grasswalk saved me countless times from high lvl hunters and thieves so its a must.

i agree with everything except for MAYBE the magic defense buff and getting dancing demon..
i really dont find dancing demon useful.. it can be replaced by ghost petal. When it comes to pvp you can always alternate spam soul spear and ghost petal. they both have fast enough cool time for you to be able to do this. and to level you?, lvl one wolf bite can do it just fine..
im not sure about the magic defense buff.. maybe if im convinced because with out it i dont have to sp farm (zero difference).
edit: good guide though :D

What about the other fire imbues or nukes? like "Flame Wave Arrow" etc etc.. Wouldn't it help by getting them too since it does increase your dmg..

Flame wave arrow is what they call a "nuke"

it does magical damage.

a str char would do very little with that

i just have some quick questions as to lightning for a pure str glaive, would it be profitable to max book 1 of the must-pierce force and then get lvl 1 book to for an extra 7 % magical damage (as little as it may be) cause its total cost is like 165 sp to max book 1 and get lvl 1book 2

i was wondering the same thing. is lightning better at getting crits than fire? for some reason my lightning at lvl 14 mastery (first book @ lvl 4)takes out as much as my lvl 20 mastery fire(first book @ lvl 8 )...what gives?

When lightning debuff effects take a hold of the oponent the effects lower that oponents parry ratio , there for your attack ratio will be more effective in pushing your damage to maximum .
With fire you will have a much less effective attack rating and there for you will be doing closer to your minimum damage range
this counts to both your magic and your phy damage , So it all adds up to some pretty nice extra damage , that isnt realy extra , its just not alway's available

Fire imbue is used by STR users mostly because you're going to level the mastery anyway for the buffs. As a str user, fire has several important skills to get. Lightning only has one (grasswalk) that can be lessened by using garments. While fire may not be the greatest imbue ever, it beats leveling a mastery exclusively for its use.

so you rather have defense instead of like + 15 % physical dmg ?
defense wont kill , damage will
