My photoshop is CS2 it dosnt really have much funtions to it.

the tut on tech-gfx was very similar but didn't show a practical application. this confirms what i thought about these things. i was going to experiment with clipping some brushing and see what that did for me; yuor "apply image" works similarly. rock.

just take other parts of the image and apply or?

Nice tutorial reK, sorry Im so late on this one, was super busy, doc visits etc.

to answer aazumak, a clipping mask says...

Take all of the information from LAYERA, and only make it visible actual pixels contained in LAYERB.

umm.....cool...huh..
in photoshop cs3, imageready has moved into ps instead of changing program to program. so in ps cs3, u can make animations in it.
