So i recently got a new laptop and downloaded SRO. Its already been installed and had no problem it installing. But i did run into some problems.
1. Sro freeze during the intro because of my mouse.. driver has been installed but still manage to freeze when using.
2. When not using the mouse and using the Mouse pad games works fine until i get to the Login bar, type User name and password plus the verfication ... but once i get passed it i get the "boot" (cannot connect to server) and then it just crashes and resets my laptop.
3.When i get past the intro and login w/o traffic it enters into the character pick screen but freeze with out showing my characters and freeze at that point .. heres the catch it does freeze and restarts my comp.. it just freeze and i can still go into different programs but i do get the white screen when clicking on the SRO tab.

If anyone can solve my problems please i would love the help if you can. Am a bit of a nub in words so you guys might have to explain it to me in kid terms.. slow learner but after that its all down hill.

And really if you can help me out i will give you one mil.. if your in the babel server.

running it on xp mode?

I run sro on Windows Xp service pack 2 and it still does that.

nasty. i use dual boot for that reason. not enough programs work nicely with
vista..

yup ive been reading and none of those solution really worked for my problem.

then maybe only solution is to make your pc dual boot.

and how do i do that Cin

make a 2nd partition on your harddisk using for example the program
partition magic. most of the times there are already 2 partitions created
when you got the pc. another way is to do it when you format your pc.

on the c drive, vista is installed. this is with normal settings the standard
partition it will run the os from. making your computer dual boot means you
install windows xp on an other partition of your harddisk, which lets yourself
choose if you want to startup vista or xp. you can even let it run vista standard
and xp when you ask for it.

works for the most. be sure, however, to back some things up. just in case.

you do know how to make a 2nd partition?
if your computer has a C drive and a D drive, you already have 2.

there is tutorials on making the 2nd partition too

also, tell me if this will work. might be better for the most that run vista.
dual boot comes in handy because still not all programs are completely
vista capable and it seems the xp "emulator" implemented in vista isnt
working with all programs.

I do have two Drives the 2nd drive empty

then i think you can skip a part of the tut and head straight to the part
where you install xp on your other partition.

or would it still work with out the cd key?

I've been running Windows Vista and been having some issues with SRO in the beginning until I had the luminous idea of just going to Microsoft's DirectX downloadsite and installing DirectX from the download provided.
Windows Vista works standard with DirectX 10, but when you run this installer it installs a complementary DirectX 9 which solves every issue with SRO.

It did for me anyway...

BTW you should have a real and legit key for XP if you're dual booting. If not, it is illegal in any case. Anyway, setting up dual boot is complicated. You can screw up your computer if you make a mistake. Proceed if you really need to use both Vista and XP. If not, follow Humbie's instructions and see if you can get Silkroad to work. If not, you can always wait until Vista is supported.
