I'm really borred to see a ton of people who doesn't know how to use his/her computer , and loosing their accounts , personnal information , only because they don't care about SECURITY .
I will show how it's easy to care about your PC , boost him , and also keep hacker far your computer .
I had tested a lot of software (always free) and now i want to share my own experience .



I/Virus , worms , trojan with advices :



AVG :
-The lower detection rate
-Email scanner
-Low requirement

-Very good " real time " protection
-Medium requirement
-The best dection rate
-Include rootkit dection
(The best FREE anti-virus for me , but you can choose what you want , and what's the best for you)

Now your computer is protected in real time , cleaned by a full scan.
Now let's see spyware , keylogger...



II/Spyware , keylogger ...



Now this is what all people in sro want to avoid.
Keylogger and all kind of spy.
I don't want to overload your computer , so i will post only 2 software.


-Spybot :
A very nice free software , who can protect NOT IN REAL TIME against keylogger , some trojan , spyware ...

-AdAware :
Another very nice free software , this is a supplement for spybot.
This protect against spyware , some dangerous cookies...No real time protection.

I advice you to use Spybot and AdAware together.




III/Firewall

This is THE thing to protect against hacker.
With out firewall , you will be infected by a virus in about 10 minuts .
(Same with an antivirus)
So there is many FREE firewall ( Kerio , ZoneAlarm ... )
I will suggest you to use ZoneAlarm because it's the easier for you to use...
Oh...I forgot this noob Windows firewall , because he doesn't control outcoming ( keylogger like it ) .
But remember that for a clean computer , windows firewall is enough.

-Easy to use

So now you have something like :

AntiVir
Spybot + AdAware
ZoneAlarm
This is enough , you don't need 2 anti virus or 2 firewall...
1 firewall without bug , conflicts is better than 2/3 firewall full of conflicts !

For clean your computer simply scan with each software (anti-virus + spybot and adaware) and go playing sro with out problems ^^



IV/How to protect my account against hacker :

-Strong password like : 4ds8z6f41g4
-Strong email like : fndisfsdf4s65@iloveyou.com
-Strong secret answer like : ejubhfsfsfesq

2/Update your driver card

Now we have finished our protection , our pc is faster , clean , don't lag anymore , and not overload of programs !

I don't say that i'm the best anti hacker...I just try to teach people about computer. This is why i have made this topic.

my brother was telling me to downloaded this AVG Anti_root kit program for keylogg does this detect that?

Remember that all people doesn't know how to use a better progs with settings...
Mine are easy to use , this is what i want ( and free )
But yes there is many other better progs , like kerio for firewall , AVG antispyware against spyware...
I also want people learn about this , and make by herself a better security.
This is a very good start to do this .

I'd suggest not using Zone Alarm anymore. Just like Jackie chan, it used to be good but now it got all bulky and slow Also, Avast kick's AVG's ass.

This help you to avoid "noob" hacker.
Hacker can enter in your computer if you don't know how to use it and protect , it's normal...
But it's right real hacker can enter on your computer , but i don't think this kind of hacker are on sro...

@desolator144 : ZoneAlarm is good for incoming , not for outcoming .
But he's free , really easy to use. I'd suggest another free firewall , Kerio for medium user .

and dont give out your info
Dont Download ANY 3rd party program nor download anything from a silk related site.

And Dont Accept attachments from ppl in silkroad that know you IM or email

Not only could I still steal someone's account if they had everything on that list installed, but ppl are still stupid enough to let friends borrow items, buy them silk, level them, have a co-owned account, try and buy an account, try and buy gold, and put their password on a sticky note on the monitor. I know that NOD 32 isn't free...I had posted only FREE programs , to help people to understand what security mean.

these are great FREE programs, but as they say, u get what u pay for, and if u pay u get better protection

AVG is not good, i use it now and i had been using it for a long time and its not very good. I will call a guy to fix some thing of my computer that must be fixed and i will also ask him to install the AntiVir

Yep, you can get everything for free in internet, or much more cheap, for example you can copy a game and then you search for a serial number, I always do that =D

k cool stuff and very good informations but now i havea big proble i downloaded an antivirus from about 2 weeks ago and when i tried to remove it from my pc it says(unable to uninstall bec the uninstall dat is not present) and bec of this antivirus i couldnt open msn and yaho messengers and silkroad is geting crazy and no songs can be opened so what could i do to get rid of it and then do ur plan.........
