Pan and Bake you can come mop up my fucken brains then, sound good?

How could you say something so retarded? I'd ANY DAY rather be at an extreme of open-mindedness rather than an extreme of close-mindedness. I'm not an idiot, though.

That pic was from the church... thats where worlds collide
Well after mopping up your brains, lemme tell ya somethin:

I'm not rly sure about that telekinesis thing and if u can do stuff like that.
We need our brains more than muscles these days, so scientists predicted us to look something like this after sometime:

And since the boundaries of science are almost always broken

Ok so maybe I was a bit exaggerative..

XuChu.. sorry but you fail..

To perform an Ollie there are three forces at play.
- the weight of the skateboarder
- the force of gravity on the skateboard
- the force of the ground pushing upward on the skateboard

I highly suggest you look it up for yourself instead of assuming I simply meant the forces that allow them to fly, as you put it, through the air.

Kids these days.....thinking they can defy the laws of physics.

Hey bud, since the laws of physics don't mean anything, get on a skateboard and see if you can stay in the air for 60 minutes. According to the laws of physics, you'll come down way before then but hey, if you can do it for 60 minutes then I guess you can defy the laws of physics.

Stolen from another forum about acompletely unrelated subject.

Things scientists didn't know about in 1907

Quote:
1. Atomic Fission
2. Superconductors
3. Relativity
4. Blood types
5. Penicillin
6. DNA
7. About 35 elements
8. Continental drift
9. Other galaxies
10. Fibre optics
11. Jet Engines
12. space flight
13. Cloning

These are everyday terms now, and back then I'm sure had the ideas been thrown out in the open they would have been "defying the laws of ____"

Basicall it just shows that in a short time science undergoes drastic changes.

I think this whole discussion should be dropped by now.
Obviously a good portion of the people have no idea what they're talking about.

I read the whole topic, didn't notice it before and after thinking about this a little....

We humans apparently use only 10% of our brain capacity, as you know neurons in the brain produce habits etc. and some things you don't do for a long time you tend to forget because neurons are destroyed. For an example, you play SRO for lets say 6 months and you're a pure str blader wanting to be higher level you grind your ass off, becoming a zombie, you stop doing your usual chores, you lose learning capability/your memory, vocal skills etc.

I always thought of the brain as a whole of lets say, 100 "points" of neurons and you use the first 10 because your body cant produce enough electricity for more >.<, one dies and you use the 2nd ~ 11th point until you get to 90~100 points, thats when you are old enough start being senile and use 9%..8%...7% etc. after some time your brain dies and you die. I guess thats on the biological level and the 10% probably have nothing to do with it but can it be connected to the psychological level? I saw this article about neurons self-recovering from diseases by learning, so if you can use the 10% you "have" and keep them then learn some new thing you start using 11% and then some more? If you know the latin proverb "Repetitio est mater studiorum." I guess our goal is to remember everything we learned before and learn more and more...

Anyway I think telekinesis isn't possible, it defies the "laws of physics", mind reading and mind manipulation through mind reading on the other hand is. Either through neuroimaging or "paranormal" twin telepathic connections (example) which have too many occurrences to be considered random(on the other hand the press/whoever might have found failed attempts uninteresting and didn't mention them?).

(edit)tl;dr probably my longest post

Nah humans only use 10% of their brain capasity at once. We use our whole brain.

To achieve telekinesis scientifically would require first and foremost incredible precision, so much so that to theorize about it at our present state of biotechnological ability is akin to Aristotle jotting down notes on microprocessors. I mean, sure we could give people the ability to project energy waves somehow, given enough time and genetic engineering, but there's no such thing as a wave of kinetic force which affects only the target and not the source or anything in between. The closest you could get is the way that rays of sunlight exert pressure on an orbital solar collector.

Umm, maybe you've got more time on your hands, did you ever think of that? Jesus this forum isn't my life, I don't go out of my way to come here and reply to people like you when I've got things to do.

Anyways, I've never taken physics, don't know the laws of physics top to bottom like you professionals seem to do. However, anything is possible.

Go look up quantum mechanics before you come talk to me about physics. According to quantum mechanics, ANYTHING is possible; down to a basketball flying through a solid wall, rather than bouncing off of it.

OOOHHHH BUT THAT DEFIES THE LAWS OH PHYSICS!!!! Oh well, it doesn't defy the laws of quantum mechanics.

You people put WAY too much faith into scientists. Stallowned showed a great quote to support that statement, as well.

What about those monks who are able to produce ridiculous amounts of body heat or spend the night in the frost?
There definitely is more to the mind than just thought, pain, and motor functions.

I used to read a lot about this kind of stuff a long time ago, and it didn't seem too far fetched.

I remember seeing a show on that. Part of their "training" was to go out on this crazy mountain with nothing and spend the night there. Any "normal" person would have froze their friggin balls off (or something else depending on gender i guess :P )

Its mind over matter for the most part. Your not gonna go tip a skyscraper over with your bare hands or anything, but we definetly have the potential to do great things...even things that are thought as 'impossible'

anything is possible? thats your only explanation for telekinesis?

well why not? i'd like to see you do it one day. and im not sarcastic...

i completly agree with Plus44. its proven that we only use 3% of our brain, and even a genius like einstein only uses around 5%. so, if we use all 100%, who knows? its possible, just not proven yet

How do i fail?
So are you trying to tell me you can do that and not come down?
if you can do that i agree, i fail, physicists fail and Newton also sort of fails(at least in the physics area anyways).

Again maybe it will be wise to revise on your physics.Whether your in school or not

That was ages ago. This is now. Ponder on that for a moment my kiddies...

Dude, I'm speechless. You own yourself so hard, so often, it's hard to believe you're not doing it on purpose.

I would love to hear more from you about subjects you've never studied. It's fascinating, in a hysterically funny sort of way.
