That is totally impossible. pk2 edit is a client side edit, it cannot affect the way others see you.

I'll repost what I said last week. A guildmate had two accounts that he used clientless to plvl himself and they got banned. One of the accounts had $20 of silk bought on it and the other had around I think $30~50.

Joymax doesn't go one by one its an auto detect that they came up with to auto ban or so it seems. I doubt they actually went to collect 10,000 names and enter them in.

so, wanna get banned.. buy silk??? :?

As much as I'd love to move my 54 blader from Venice to Venus, if Joymax allowed that, then all the botters would pay to have their characters moved to other servers.

Not to mention the billions of gold that would be introduced into the new server, unless characters transfer naked.

Besides, what happens if I want to move PR0METHEUS away from Venice, but there's already a PR0METHEUS on the new server?

If you want to know why and how then take the bot and packet analyze what and where is it sending ;)
If you see your account details being sent to some unknown place you will understand, why only
hacked/cracked bots getting banned :P

And fresh silk doesn't count, jm don't care about new account with 20$ silk history, but when there is an
account with 1000$ history JM won't take the chance that all that will get charged back.

And by the way a lot of ppl started to ccf with papal, reason 1000silk removed .....
So the reason you will see premium users in the bann list, since they don't say the reason...

I LOL'D

Client sided VS. Server sided.

Know your shit before you post, AFAIK virtually NO data from pk2 edits is EVER sent to the SRO servers, unless they truly start inspecting pk2 files... which hasn't happened yet!

Seems that wouldn't be hard to do. Quick MD5 hash of media.pk2, data.pk2, and others. Send the MD5's off to the server for comparison. I suppose one could intercept those MD5s and replace them with correct ones, but the average user wouldn't know to do that.

They couldn't MD5 whatever file stores user settings, since they are dependant on the user's preferences (video, sound, key assignments...)

There were a lot of bans on Venus also. The leader of RP_BLOODLINE, a large bot guild, got banned with prem+... lol

Premium is server side not client side.
so no... it wouldn't be possible.

i agree but i know that you cant charge back transactions that are over 45 days old with paypal, maybe joymax makes exceptions to their loyal customers :D . joymax is getting desperate showing chargebacked accounts to prop up their botter banlists.

Everyone's media.pk2 is different tho. I have 3 pc's. On one it's 294, the other it's 303 and on my laptop it's 307MB ;o So attaching a MD5 check to it wouldn't work.

they should move the importent things like invis/stealth into a seperate secure file or make it server side. nothing else in the pk2 really matters.

But why is media.pk2 different on each PC? Is that just because of pk2 editing? If that's the case, they could just ban pk2 editing, and then be able to md5 the files.

pk2 file updates everytime there is a patch. but sometimes if you dont play for a while, you can skip over a patch if its no longer usefull. like summer event decorations. if u did not play in the summer event, u did not download the town decorations into your pk2 file. after the event finished, they did not deleat the files from the pk2, they simply made it so the patch after the event did not install those files any more.

so the more u play, the more useless crap builds up in ur pk2 file.

Clientless>>>>its the same as running a golbot if he/she wanted to cheat a Multiclient would have done the job.

anyways, the ONLY hope I see when trying to have control the bots its only on new servers, clean start to evenly ban all those that use illegal 3rd party program, not just goldbots

I think JM does have a system to auto detect clientless...I mean there are 32 servers I think, JM has like what? 6 "GM" no way they would go 1 by 1 adding names like "sjfskl" "sjfksj" "skjfskj" it might me easy to tell who is a goldbot but its not easy to manually enter names on the block list.

My theory is they are just upgrading their services until Aion is out and a few months after they will be back to their old selves. We'll see what comes from this.

Hello. this is Silkroad Online.

In this week, we posted the massive bot punishment list as we promised.

Bot punishment depends on users action related to illegal programs.

Purchasing Silk will not prevent user from bot punishment. And nothing can justify illegal programs.

Therefore, we are reminding our users to understand regarding to this bot punishment, and avoid illegal programs.

there ya go....

their way of saying...you will get banned for Illegal clients and such but not botting..

Bot Program = Illegal Program. Hence botting = use of illegal client, hence you are being banned for it.

In this case its more likely that rev6 just hasnt updated in a while, they arnt famous for that, I mean I recently +9'd my s/s (not blowing my own trumpet) and that has not shown up on rev6 and my last recorded message has been the same for months.

Well, you can merge 2 servers together, they recently did that.
And when your name is already taken, you need to make another one(dunno who can keep tbh, the foreign people on cSRO, like me, would needed to, because we are "the guests")
