If the skill go up to 80 then pure str glavies will have a nice advantage with a new level 80 soul spear.
Pure int/Hybrid int spears will also get the new lvl 80 soul spear.

im pretty sure we did a chart on this awhile back but the later lvls the difference in damage is more than 50-100 if i could find the topic i'd show you and the max damage of a fire skill will always be greater than the max damage of an ice skill
lvl 79 Cold Imbue: 395 ~ 592
lvl 79 Light Imbue: 384 ~ 713
lvl 79 Fire Imbue: 484 ~ 806
As you can see, the fire and light imbue easily out damage the ice imbue, but that really doesn't mean all that much to a pure str... The damage difference between fire and ice imbue is 89~214 here. Lets take a 300% skill multiplier and assume a 40% magical balance. [I know there's other factors but this will be accurate enough] The damage diffence range ends up being 106.8~256.8. In other words... Negligable to a pure str. Pure ints are another story lol.

nothing should really change since we are still using crappy lvl 72 weapons (us unlucky ones). Glaivers should hit harder therefore pawn in pvp once more. Nukers will get increased hittin power so they should match well against glaivers. The thing that might change most is teh archer build...but unless we see the new skills in action we cant really determine how effective tehy will be in pvp. Remember archers are great support chars even now, with new skills and possibly change in fire shield tehy may prove to be even more valuable to have around
I have to disagree here. I wouldn't see archer build changes the most... You still just stand at range and pummel your enemy with arrows. The builds that will change most dramatically will be pure and hybrid ints. With the mana shield, they'll be incredible tanks for 2 minutes. Being damn near invincible vs being able to stun and knockback is a pale comparison. I think I'll see the invincibility shine a tad bit more here ^^

That's exactly where you are wrong, pure ints suffer the most from the lack of update in skills. So pureints will have more advantage from this update than pure strs.. Though bow will have be a way better class now.
And to the people that think that ice deals LESS dmg than fire/elec. think again, it's been proven several times that it deals equilevant dmg at the higher lvls.
So imho Ice > Fire/Elec
And with the update Resistance is supposed to be removed..
I don't get the contradiction you put in there, but I won't bother commenting much on that. Once again, the equivalent damage stuff is bullshit... Since we are talking about ints here, we'll now take into consideration the nukes as well... [You can reference the imbue data from above.]
Lvl 80 book 2 ice nuke: 395 ~ 593 [300%]
Lvl 80 book 3 ice nuke: 166 ~ 250 [300%]
Lvl 80 book 3 light nuke: 728~1352 [300%]
Lvl 77 book 2 fire nuke: 709 ~ 1182 [300%]
Lvl 80 book 3 fire nuke: 780 ~ 1300 [300%]
Lvl 80 book 3 fire nuke: 780 ~ 1300 [300%]
If the damage ranges don't look significant enough, factor in the imbue and the 300% and you'll notice that there is a difference. Also see, that funny enough, the light nuke outdamages the fire nuke ^^

I don' think that glaviers will get their lv 80 skill since we didn't get any lv 70 skill either on the 70 gap
anyway i think hybrids will be the strongest in pvp but pure int will be the most useful during jobs and gws
I'm not sure about the lvl 80 skill part, but I think we will get the lvl 80 skill. We didn't get the 70 skill since there weren't any skills beyond lvl 69 to begin with. This time around, JM has developed the skills from lvl 69 to 90, so why wouldn't we get the lvl 80 skill too?

as for the topic, i have done zero research on the new skills, so i am not in a fair position to judge, but i know that i will be doing 20% more dmg per skill JUST from the mastery lvl increases. that's huge. can't wait.
Huh? Where did the mastery lvl increase stuff come from? We've had the 1% damage per mastery level for a skill from that tree already I thought? I'm quite sure we already got the 11% damage increase from lvl 69 to 80. [Not exactly sure where you got the 20% from]
