It is not impossible. What is needed is a more complex in game code (like the one you type when you login) that is being asked continuously (maybe once an hour with some randomization). Failure to answer this one correct would lead to an automatic ban (after a number of retires). This would not stop botting in the sense that they can still babysit all day if thats what they want, but it would get rid of the ones that are ALWAYS on.
Joymax could also implement a function that checks for known bot processes. This would be worked around pretty fast, but would catch A LOT of botters right away since it is unlikely that they would even know about it before its too late.
Those things would help, but what is also needed are GMs that actually do what they should be doing. They should be online at all times.
Then of course, maybe joymax should deal with the actual problem - if the game is so Farking boring that people use machines to play it for them, there has to be something wrong. Add ways to get exp that challenge people - things that require a human player.
