1. Ban Botter? Impossible.... Programmer will keep updating the bot. After 1h or less you will see botter running around the map. A tree wil die if u keep plucking the leaf you know what i mean....

2. Enlarge your server? Is it possible for sro to do it? Spend some money to buy a better server provider.

3. Split up SRO since there is
Korea SRO http//kr.silkroad.yahoo.com,
China SROhttp//www.srocn.com,
Taiwan SR O https//www.sro.com.twand
Japan SRO http//www.silkonline.jp

You can try to have Europe SRO, Asia SRO, America SRO etc.....

Then create a server for Guild war and PVP arena for ALL Countries SRO - a server thats has no mob drop just for WAR n PVP and we can interact will people from different countries and exchange pointers from them.

"Europe SRO" would still be too big.

It is not impossible. What is needed is a more complex in game code (like the one you type when you login) that is being asked continuously (maybe once an hour with some randomization). Failure to answer this one correct would lead to an automatic ban (after a number of retires). This would not stop botting in the sense that they can still babysit all day if thats what they want, but it would get rid of the ones that are ALWAYS on.

Joymax could also implement a function that checks for known bot processes. This would be worked around pretty fast, but would catch A LOT of botters right away since it is unlikely that they would even know about it before its too late.

Those things would help, but what is also needed are GMs that actually do what they should be doing. They should be online at all times.

Then of course, maybe joymax should deal with the actual problem - if the game is so Farking boring that people use machines to play it for them, there has to be something wrong. Add ways to get exp that challenge people - things that require a human player.

Yeah, if they had a decent anti cheat system that worked right it could monitor for the codes of a bot within the game. But on gameguards website it never mentions Joymax as being supported. Bad thing is the same company of GG also does security for banks in korea. But they would need a good anti cheat system to even start

It's not impossible at all to ban all bots. Bots (aka macroers) don't last more than a day or two in Runescape. They have random events where if they don't respond, they get killed plus a reporting system :P
Joymax couldn't handle the same type of reporting system but I've already posted here a couple time what the perfect solution is. Too bad I can't post it on the SRO forums cuz for some reason it will log me in to the website but not the forum and gives me some whacked out error that doesn't make any sense
