I got my spear to +4 on 4 elixirs.
I failed at getting +5 three times in a row on that same spear -_-

someone said that if the item can +3 easily chances are it go to +5 easily too. if it takes forever for item to go +3 chances are u gona spend a lot of $$ to +5 /+7 it.
just random thing i heard.

Really nice guide, but is it really confirmed that this is what Joymax meant?
The whole guide is based on that each item has a hidden alchemy success stat, but is that what the help guide tells you?
With my experience of Joymax wonderfull explanation/translation, it could mean anything from
"a lvl52 bow and a lvl56 bow has different chances of success"
to
"7th degree has a higher chance of success than 8th degree"
personally, i've gotten +4 on first tries a few times, but never done +5 or even gotten +4 again on those weaps ;o
ah well, once again, Good Guide, sry for doubting, it's just in my nature not to trust anything that isnt official source to 100%

i think ryoko is right, i heard a lot of times that alchemy sucess depend of where we do it, they think it work better if we hide under a three in hotan, if u go out of town or w/e lol but the thing is that items have a certain probability to success.
i think each items has a probability % sucess. then more there are + more the probability deacrease. and Lucky stone just up the probability % sucess. but i think it doesn t up it a lot. for exemplefor +7 let's say that there is 10% of probability sucess, u add a lucky stone and u ll have 20% to sucess or something, i think that s why usually u stil fail even if u have a lucky.

I've always thought all specific types of items (example: all bows of 5th degree), have a certain probability, but each item individually, i have'nt seen anything that would lead me to believe this :s
As far as i can see the help guide could be one of countless bad translations, or just a bad description (this is'nt unusual in sro after all).
And i've never noticed big differences in items of the same degree :o
I've never tried +9 etc, so who am i to speak

Ok, i have a question...
I am currently level 39 and i bought myself a +0 lvl 42 bow for when i get there.
I successfully +5 it with no failures. Do you think i should try for +6 or even +7?
Also, it has astral 1 time... does this mean that it will go to +0 if it fails or will it stay at +5?

Well i choose to believe that alchemy doesnt work how this thread sais it does, purely out of my own experiences.
However, i can tell you for sure, the difference between making +5 and +7 is huge :o
I'd recommend you stay at +5 and don't try +7 if you only got 1 astral.
oh, and Astral makes it go to +4 if alchemy failed

nice...now if someone can make a guide on which stone does what, cuz im tired of buying the wrong stones
Ex: i bought a penetration stone(lvl5) for 300k cuz i thought it changes block ratio  ....it turned out to be agility(which i thought increased ur speed  )

To be honest, i dont see how this is a good and useful guide. From an alchemy-noob point of view this is not undestandable, what is +1 what is immortality, steadiness, lycky. How to get elements....etc.
The major part of the post is you showing off your success in alchemy, well good job, we know u learned it...I mean i respect the fact that your an accomplished alchemist, but its not really the subject of the post, is it?
All the others keep posting very intelligent replies such as: very good job on that guide! I liked it, very usefull stuff.
Theyre either sucking up coz ur an admin or the just want to gain a number of posts. Because think about it , do these posts contribute to the guide? NO!
Please dont take this post as an offense. I'm just the first one to actually say what is really on my mind.

I do think each individual items has its own success rate on all of the following:
- the plus status
- individual stats
- blues
For example, last night, I tried to +3 my earring, then +4, it went like this...
1-2-3-0-1-2-3-0-1-2-3-4
I think it will go to +5.
Then, on the same earring, I tried to add electric shock to it... after 20 stones !!! It still stays in the range of 1% to 3%, never get higher... But when I put ice on it, first try got 3%, second try went to 20%...
So, I think at least from my own experience, each stats (plus, stat, blue) on each item has its own probability of success and it has a max. value attached to it... for instance, my earring's shock stat won't go over 3%...

Thanks sooo much for the hints. I am new and excited (remember that new feeling of discovery?) how it felt the first 15 - 20 levels (and maybe even way passed that)....? I gave my wife GRIEF over the HOURS she played.....till I started my own build. I like this forum. I get a good vibe....wish me luck and I will be looking to you guys for answers along the way, and yes, remember, some questions will seem like stupid ones.

If an item fails at +2 a a coupple of times and when I +2 it fails to +3, that means itll be very hard to +3?

I think this glavie is very lucky, I +5ed at the 2nd try.
Any suggestions?¿

If you have the money to get it back to atleast +5, or even +6 again, then go for it. If you don't, then just leave it as it is, and don't run the risk of it going back to +4. You might want to put Steady on it, as well, if you don't already have it.

Yes there is astral, immortal and steady already, 1 time.
BTW how much money would it take to make it +6 again?

hello guys, it has been a long time since i haven't posted anything in the forums..
for the past 1 month, ive collected a lot of ruby and jade, ive also collected all the elements needed turn them into stones. in my first try, ive created about 20 critical stones, and hoping that any of this stones will make my new glaive (i have an older glaive with 11 crit) to reach at least 12+ crit.
when i reinforce the stones into my glaive..all 20 stones cant reach upper then 9 crit!!. its just a waste of ruby indeed. and it also fails alot. from out of 20, 10 stones resulted in failure.
my question is, does stats reinforcement, in the weapon itself, or in other way ruby and jade stones, apply with invincible % that the weapon have in reinforcement of weapon (+ 1 to +5 etc.)?
and if anybody here can share, whatever tips in making the stats in the weapon higher using ruby and jade stones?

This really sucks, every MMORPG games I play, I have the worst luck ever. For example, in WoW (World of Warcraft) I was never able to find rares (blue , purple) at all throughout my starting level to max level in WoW, but my lil brother keeps on finding so many. Then onto SRO, I was so happy to find my SOM 24 glavie after a long time of playing SRO and now I'm trying to put +s to it. However, since I already have bad luck, and now with this low luck on this SOM, I can't barely get the glavie over +3, I BARELY get it to +3  ... I think I tried 30+ weap elix already and mine keeps on going like this

Mate...getting a 24 som glavie is lucky enough lol I've never got an sos drop before but I'm good with alchemy.... Hmm...luck in alchemy > luck in drops FTW
