'A' & 'a' are the same letter.

They are the same letter, yes. But in a password, "A" & "a" is two completely different things.

Probably should've phrased it character instead of letter then, but I won't dwell on it.

I agree, my mistake.

She said she needs to think about it ... that this would be a ... "pure guess" ... Whats the answer anyway? (we didnt include lowercase and uppercase letters)

Being a math-teacher I would expect her to know the answer instantly, but maybe she was just in a hurry or something. The answer is 26^9
(as stated before)

The answer is relative though (to a certain degree), to me it's definitely 29^9.

For me the answer would be 29^9, go figure why :)

Well... at first she started to write some numbers ... I was like wth is she doing? She wrote alot of stuff first .. and said that she would need to think about it that shes not completly sure ... she didnt done it in log time (that type of problem)... and at end she said its 26^9 but that shes not sure ... that she will need to think about it ... (we done all that in like 10 minutes , not more ... she was in hurry maybe ...)

EDIT ... yeah she said that those are special kinds of problems that she didnt solve for long time ... she named it but I cant translate it to english, nor cant recall ...

I think combinatorics is the word you're looking for, maybe that or probability theory.
