I finished school about 6 months ago to date.
It really was a big time in my life. My final 2 years of school were hell. I had a lot of pressure put on me by my parents, i went through a lot of emotional pain with losing close friends and at one stage.. tempting suicide.
In the final 2 weeks before my last exam, it really hit me.. i was going to finish it all. For me it was the best feeling ever. All the stress and pressure was to be gone, i had never felt more happy about anything in my life.
When i finally finished i got a job 1 week later. Ever since than things have turned around a lot. I now actually have money to go places.. so i am enjoying being able to hang out with friends a lot more. With always being busy studying i never had time to go out on the weekends. Im living a more carefree life, the only thing i have on my agenda is to find love.. but thats hardly something i can rush.
So thats my experience of the whole thing. For me it was the most positive thing in my life ever so i hope you can gain the same joy that i have from it. Its quite a shock when your routine for 13 years is suddenly blown away in an instant.

PB_and_J wrote: Still debating if I should continue my IB courses though high school or get my french immersion diploma...bah IB will make ur life a LOT easier when applying to universities. most universities in canada will let u in if you got 27 points or above. and that translates into a low B in regular class... on the other hand, life before university acceptance is hell tho, all the crazy essays and stuff but u do get to enjoy 1.5 extra months of summer vacation since most IB finals are done in mid-May.

I agree completely.
The benifits of the IB diploma far outweigh the costs and time you put into it. I mean, its a two year course, but the majority of the work should be done early. (If you manage your time right). If not, like the majority of us here, these final months. Especially right now, will leave you sleepless, and drown your social life, but once again i tell you that the benifits are way worth missing those parties, sleeping later, working harder ect.
There are those who say that the IB just completely drains your social life, makes you 100% concentrate on work, and pretty much keeps you as a prisoner. Don't listen to these people, they are idiots hahaha. and yes, when it comes to universities, they will like it that you come from the IB system. Because they know are challanged.
@Happy: Nah dude, i'm not that kinda genious hahaha! Psycho!. I'm doing good, my predicted grades, without my EE+TOK is 32. So in the end it could be anywhere from 33-35. Which is still sitting pretty.
@Pilot: don't mind, and its nice that you guys have personal knowledge and so on. Which helps me as well. So yeah, i like sharing with you guys 2.
@PB&J: OF course i can't tell you which one is better, as i havent done them both, but i do believe the IB will be more benificial in the future.

I know you're pretty stressed out atm hun but I know you'll make it. End of highschool is a remarkable period of your life and honestly, you should enjoy every moment you have because University is just different. I love University too but its never the same feeling anymore.
Oh and if you don't come to Waterloo I'll quit SRF <3 Please don't go to UT. It sucks and you'll regret it because its got OLD buildings and its basically in downtown. Waterloo's got the greatest atmosphere and you'll LOVE the student town here. We can always drive to Toronto for the weekend, enjoy the city and come back. Not to mention you can hang around with me, dommy, Metroid from Hercs and Happy Noobing <3 We can haf SRF party!!

I'm from Tdot, and it rules. Got the best night life north of the 49 parallel. (that's the US Border, still can't beat Vegas or NY). But the Entertainment district is sweet if the bars are your thing, everything from clubs, to pubs, to live entertainment. We get some of the best bands coming through here. There's Wonderland (giant amusement park), we got a massive underground shopping complex so you can basically walk the entire downtown city core without going outside in the winter because it does get damn cold here. We got a crazy bar complex called the docks, I'm sure you'll end up there. We got some sweet beaches in the summer, I've lived down there playing beach volleyball. Jazzfest is crazy, Carribana is a little more intense, two huge street parties basically. You just won't get bored that's all I can say.
Oh and as for the radio stations, bring an iPod our radio stations suck. It's the same 20-30 songs over and over, although you will have to get up to date on your Canadian bands as due to CRTC regulations all radio stations must have a certain % of canadian content on them, so get to know Billy Talent, Tragically Hip, Matthew Good, Beouduin Sound Clash. But I will say the Drive @5 street mix on 103.5 is slyck.

Well not sure what sports you follow there if any, but we have all the major North American ones here, plus a pretty good soccer (futbol) league and you really need to go to a lacrosse game, that is way too much fun. Of course when hockey playoffs start and if the Leafs make it (not this year) then the city goes nuts, kind of like being in Auckland or Sydney while the Tri-nations is on, or the UK or Brazil while the World Cup is on. Of course we've got a pretty diverse population so Toronto gets pretty crazy for those too. Little Italy when they won the world cup was nuts.
