cin wrote: and, did you look at any laptops with screens larger than 12.1"? it just seems so damn small T_T i thought the standard nowadays was 15.4", most people i know have either 17" or 20" notebooks.
For size compare: The bigger one I bought in ~ January 2007, if I remember right it's a 17 or 19 widescreen, I gave it to my dad when I bought my smaller one in ~ September 2007. Here's another size compare, with my 22 monitor It is small, but it still holds a 1280x900 resolution, more than manageable.

a proper regular laptop will cost you somewhere between 1 and 1,5k. that one would have a 17" widescreen, 2gb memory, 120+ hdd, 256mb ded. videocard minimum. that will be able to play most games. seriously, i'm thinking why would you spend soooooo much money on a tablet pc when the graphic cards are shit? T_T is like, tablet pc's are mostly used by graphical designers n stuff afaik. you'd want something better than an onboard card or nvidia geforce GO 6 series right? >_<

well first, you can simply dual boot your mac to windows+mac, so that's not a problem ;]
second, does your father work with a tablet pc much? i'd like to know why he's pushing it so hard T_T. i mean, if he's paying for it, sure a tablet pc would be fun and all.. but for gaming, imo its a big nono looking at the gfx specs.

Don't buy a laptop in accordance with it's graphics capability, you're making a big mistake. Buy a laptop for school work, and then worry about if it can run games. You will be able to play most games, you will not be able to handle Crysis, COD4, etc. but then again, even more expensive laptops cannot handle those, they need a real dedicated graphics card, not simply dedicated memory.
