Hi everyone. I have a question.

Why sp farm at lvl16? since it's possible to do it at every level, given that having a 9 lvl gap.

Thanks. :)

OF COURSE U CAN FARM AT AY LVL (I FARM AT 21 BENEFITS... U CAN DO TRADE RUNS WHEN U GET BORED OF FARMING). PPL FARM AT 16 BECAUSE OF THE BENEFITS OF THE DEN (STRONGHOLD) SPAWN RATIO IS BETTER THAN ANYWHERE ELSE... SO U CN FARM MORE ON LESS TIME.

damnit cut the capts >.>

Good times to farm are:
- when you have a new weapon (16,24,32...) because you can equip a sos weapon then
- when you can kill fast, high spawnrate (bandit den has highest spawnrate ingame)

Well atleast those are the main things.. there are some other things that matter but I quess these 2 are reason enough to farm there

Some thoughts on "farm levels"

Well, first off - it should be the starting level of a new degree set, so you can get a new SOS-weapon.

So, these are our candidate levels:
( 1,8 ) 16,32,42,52,64

(Note: 1 and 8 are obviously useless for farming cause sp income too small, gap not big enough, and the insane ammount of deleveling that would be requried)

You can actually farm very well at any of the other levels, given you have a nice weapon.

Arguments for farming at level 16:
  • Your lvl16 sos weapon will be performing like a 24+ piece. That +8 level (asuming you have a sos 16+3) is an insanely huge boost at low levels. The damage lost by keeping masteries low is VERY small in comparison to the damage gained by the sos-weapon.
  • SP/EXP ratio is higher at low levels.
  • LV16/24/32 SOS weapons are fairly cheap compared to 42/52/64 SOS pieces
Arguments for higher farming levels:
  • Less/No deleveling needed
  • Beside the SP income you will also get considerable exp.
  • Much less crowded grinding-areas
  • Higher gold income

If this is your first char i do not recommend to farm huge ammounts of exp at lvl16. Mainly, because you wont be able to affort a pimped out sos-weapon. But also because 4-weeks of farming is propably the last thing you are up to when starting a new game. You should in any case use at least gap 7 for levels 15-20, but its by no means required to farm 50+k at those levels. Farming rate is not much worse at higher levels, you wont "ruin" your char by not farming early.

As i stated in a previous post, in my experience Chin's Tomb at level 14 with a level 14 wolf is far better SP farming then the bandit's den. Even without a wolf i could farm more SP.

Without an SoS weapon at level 14 i could 2 shot the stone ghost. Thats 240 SP per kill with a 9 level gap. At level 16 at the den i could only 2 shot archers, bowman, and subs. Regular bandits take about 6 hits and thats with a +3 SoS glavie.

At Chin's Tomb the spawn rate is about as fast as the den. I never ran out of mobs to fight. I would climb to the 3rd level to SP farm. I would of stayed there but when i hit level 15 so did my wolf and you can't delevel a wolf.

At level 16 the bandit archers, bowman give 240 exp per kill and the regular bandits give 400 but it was still faster at chin's tomb. With the wolf he had no chance of dieing at Chin's tomb he can kill 3 mobs to your 4. You attack one and make him attack another. I would have the wolf attack far away mobs while i grabbed the close ones. All of the above SP exp is with a golden ticket.

Uhh wouldn't you want your wolf to be higher? you can kill mobs easier that way, when I get the urge I'm going to make a farmer on my account, take a high level wolf to the bandit den and 2hit bandits with it, whilst I just sit there taking no damage at all.

You can't use wolves that are higher level than you.

And you can delevel a wolf, but it'd be sorta expensive :P

Yah you can't delevel your wolf. So if your wolf is 15 your 15. 15 at the Chin's Tomb = alot less experience then 14.

Believe me.. stone ghosts are nothing compared to the den -.-". I farmed there at lvl 8-13 with a sos +3 weapon, and it's way worse then bandit den. Mainly because you spend to much time on delvling, and the spawnrate isnt as high as you stated. It is pretty high, but atleast with my bow I killed so fast that I had to wait from time to time for new mobs, or had to move a little
As you said lvl 14, you can farm at yeoha's better because they give much better sp/exp and still have a decent spawnrate

impossible to get to 60 with 0 lvl gap unless you learnt near no skills. You just wouldn't have the skill points to lvl up mastery and 2 skills per lvl
