It is speculation to say that 2* thiefts are more profitable; usually said by non-poppers.

But popping pulls in full oxes each trip, and you pop as you scroll to leave more loot on the ground, for when you reverse return back

For the time spent, you make more than nosing around for that rare multi. It keeps you busy too.

It is hard to understand why someone would trade for pot-money, when knowing their are probobly poppers along the way, and a chance of not making it =/ They trade with money they cant afford to lose.

That is the original point of doing a 1* trade, not 2* or above. :) I used to do trades for pot money all the time before popping became a popular sport. Now I barely trade at all.

morality check for the theives that are anti 1*

You see a big pile of loot on the ground with no one around, it has 4-5 different player names on it, do you take it? It is obviously from "ill gotten' means.

How about if a union member is popping, gets full and tells you to take some?

It's not obviously from ill-gotten means unless you actually saw a popper get killed and drop it.

But in answer to the question, stuff on the ground is free pickings. You don't have to do anything asshole-ish to grab them, and if you don't, it's more than likely that another popper will come along and use those goods to pop more traders.

So hell yes I would take them first if I can.

Hmm, union members popping... well, I've never been in a guild or union that supports it. Well... I was, but I left it for that very reason. As I understand it, you're generally supposed to "turn the other cheek" when it involves guildies or unions, but it's up to the individual. Personally, I support the innocents before I support the Union. Screw rules, I wouldn't care if they kicked me out, I'd be glad to be disassociated from it.

Now conditions are being applied to ethics.

Perhaps it was unethical when I used my last murder point to give some other people offender, then shot them.

Hey, they didnt have to attack me when I was red. (^_^)

When people job or war with wolf, I kill it :D

But the other day a 1*'s wolf died, and he wispered me. "Man, you know my wolf cost 50k too". I apologized. Losing a trade and wolf is rough, lots of money. Granted, not the best idea to summon him. But still.

Then he said "maybe let me put it away first so I dont lose him". I said, "but then you might get away....."

I'm sorry but that last bit almost resulted in a mouthful of water on my screen :D in future i will not drink and read posts at the same time.

To be honest, i have little sympathy for noobs that have their wolf out during trade, mine can handle a proper beating and i still dont have him summoned just in case. Too risky.

Not unless you want to start allowing new threads about it, Sui. It's one or the other, and this one is a lot easier to deal with (or to ignore).

If you don't let people have at least one place to box it out, it will spill out into the rest of the forums.

It already has in guides forum.

i bet that you (or others) have 1* popped for as long as you can remember which means you didn't always abide by the "rules" and exploited 1* trades all along

Personally I don't agree with popping... I think it's an oversight by joymax. However, the fact that they haven't fixed it yet (the patch where thieves spawn hunter mobs isn't in place yet) tells you it's nothing serious as far as they're concerned.... thus it's low on their list of things to fix

i'd rather have one thread entitled to 1s popping, i don't see any flame posts yet o_O

anyway, i don't agree with 1s popping AT FIRST. but its to my advantage, so why not =P. I guess i'm the only 1s popping thief who cant wait to have the npc hunter update. any other 1s poppers who cant wait too? =D

How about they just do it this way:

1.Click on System
2.Click on options
3.Have a new option that reads: Allow greasy, low-life, high lvl theives to take advantage of you when you think you only have to deal with your own problems like your own NPCs and mobs such as earth ghosts. Yes or No click here.
4.Just like the option that turns off all PK for players who don't want to be invovled in it,..they would have the choice,...which is something 1*poppers decided long ago not to give them.

And I bet you have, as long as you remember, accused any thief that has 1* popped of 1* popping for every bit of theif exp.

1* popping is not in the rules. In fact, there are very few official "rules" in this game (and most MMOs for that matter). The "guidelines" for games like this are made by the community, not the company that produces it. Therefore, each person makes their own guidelines and it is their right to not give a **** about the guidelines others think should be followed.

I Farking hate it when noobs are too lazy to avoid 1* poppers and then bitch when they lose their shit cause they didn't even bother to try to go around or even deviate from their path at all.

Yeah well you know, I don't want to be involved in this whole star rating system, I'd like to just rob everything I could without being bothered with that one star message, but thats not gonna happen any time soon. I'd like there to be some kind of encouragement for traders to go multi-star, and I would like people to look at both sides of situations before they assume the worst but thats not going to happen anytime soon either, is it?

Assuming they know how to avoid it, or how to spot it, at all. I'm sure it wouldn't be suprising to say that many don't. New players should have the opportunity to learn how to properly do jobs in this game, before they have to learn all the little workarounds and exploits that the high levels have taken to using.

Back when my character was a newbie trader, she didn't have to worry about things like this. Nobody used it, and jobbing was normal, fun. Thieves were thieves, traders were traders, newbies had the freedom to experience the job system the way it was intended. If I didn't have so much fun back then, I would not have continued playing past lv30. No sir. And I think to all the new players these days, and all the poppers who, to quote, just "don't care" about the experiences of their fellow gamers... don't care that what they are doing deals a major hit to the morality of their victims, that by bending the system in this way upsets decent players and causes good, honest people to quit the game... Some go much further than just "not caring"- they like it. They do it just to laugh and mock people. It's Farking sickening. "If you don't wanna get popped, level up" they say. And then everyone whines that we have so many scammers and botters, LOL. If only they cared beyond their own enjoyment to see what a detremental effect this selfish gameplay has on the entire community.

Just for clarification is there in-placed game restrictions on high level hunters killing low level thieves? If there is then I guess 1* popping is something that need to fix... if not then... think about it... is 1* popping really an oversight or a bug? *scratches head* hmm, or is this discussion the result of our own personal views? :D

Hmm, personally I don't like 1* popping... I've experienced it a couple of times and it's frustrating... but thinking about how the game was developed and of course the feature of "jobs" (hunter, thief & trader)... I believe it's part of the entire beauty of the game.

Just like the jobs... each has it's own function in the world of silkroad. Thieves will be thieves... Hunters will be hunters... and Traders will be traders.

Restricting one job to perform it's task should also result to other jobs being modified (having rules). Of course IRL thieves have the power to choose who to victimize (regardless of background or age) - law inforcement officers (hunters) - go after criminals (regardless of background as long as they wreck havoc in society) and of course traders can buy and sell as many products as they want and where to go to earn a profit (hire people to protect them)

Until the developers changes something in-game (if they do)... I guess it's the decision of each thief if they want to do a 1* ... again, I don't like the idea of doing 1* but it's a role-playing game :)

As for me... I had my own share of rants! But I don't want to be a victim anymore! :banghead: So... I'll be developing my char to be a GREAT hunter :) If I do a good job - I can one day hunt - not out of revenge but out of purpose! :D

here, here....well said. finally some1 with some morality. thank god I thought i was practicly alone on this, even the forum mods. are 1*poppers and delete your posts if you try to warn other players (personally I think forum mods/"captains" should keep their opinions to themselves rather than becoming a child themself and agreeing with other players who are purposly out to harm/take advantage of other players by bending the rules. i.e. "joinin in on the fun and tellin the lowbie how they deserve it because they want their "cake" and their gonna take it from YOU. As for you cuchulainn, you have a one track mind that only involves one thing,...thinking about yourself. The idea of MMORPGs (I Thought) was to be sociable, make friends, have fun. Your idea of an MMORPG is to: Make enemies, discourage newcomers, make your own rules up as you go regardless of who it affects, and bathe in the misfortune of others. You really need to go back to Nintendo and try to kill Bowser or something. You do not belong in an online community, your a trouble-maker and a blatently RUDE and selfesh/only-in-it-for-the-good-of-himself player by the way you sound. If you want everyone you encounter to hate you, why bother with online gaming? It really isn't for you,-or any other "I'm gonna do it anyway and be proud of it" low-life that makes gaming sessions unpleasant for others. Pls, Pls, stick to Marble Madness, and the Sponge-Bob Squarepants Forum.

I have plenty of friends in game along with one of the better guilds in Troy. However, anyone not on my friends list or in my union is fair game to be robbed as far as I'm concerned.

My idea of any game: have fun

If I have fun by thieving, that's what I'm going to do. If you don't like it and you're on Troy, level-up and join a no-thieves guild and try to kill me.

I have nothing against the people I pop, but it's annoying when they bitch about it. Otherwise, it's just "sorry, but I'm taking your loot, better luck next time"

BTW, I talked to ASmile, and he said you got pretty worked up. Kept pming him to try and irritate them, he loled.

As i said, you dont belong in an online community. And just because you have friends in this game, its only because they are as low and shallow as you are. <cough>ASmile4U. Like will follow like. I think my earlier post clearly sums up what kind of player you are, and your rebuttle didn't really make much sense, bear any weight, and will probably be laughed at by many. Enjoy life you rebel thief. If you are anything like your character or forum personality in real life, good luck ever enjoying the finer things in life. Personally I hope you end up in a ditch somewhere, homeless, hungry and alone. And then someone says to you, "It's not my problem, it's yours and you should have deviated from your current path to avoid it", and then laughs uncontrollably as they walk away from all that is your suffering. But thats just me.

Well, at least I'm not the type of person that blames others when I fail. If I end up in a ditch, that's my fault and no one elses. Your philosophy it seems is: i'm poor and hungry and here's why someone else is responible for my problems.

Pathetic.

And no, I'm not really an ass in real life, except when people really irritate me as you are doing now.

LoL...

Whiners....

Until the new job update, you pretty much can't do anything about it yet...

Wisest thing to do?

-- Go try level up...

Thieving isn't really that profitable but I get the most rush with it...

It's a game and you just do what you gotta do... If there are a lot of people like Sick out there getting so worked up about it and cursing the shit out ppl just for that... LoL, I suggest you find another game, something more to your pace... That or you oughta seek help real bad.... LoL!

no actually that isn't my philosophy - it's just what I personally hope happens to you so you can experience someone else batheing in your misfortune to the extreme. I could think of another example but your just not worth the time anymore. And btw your definition of fun is pretty sick.

Fun to you = watching other people suffer by your hand

You'd make a good terrorist. You should really hook up with the Taliban.
And LOL at no Im not really an ass in real life, (just in every other social aspect that involves other people) hmm and you called me a hypocrite earlier. You seemed pretty two-faced yourself.

It's a game.... And I'm sure if you're capable of doing things we do, you'd prolly do the same, or worse...
