Look, I know you feel strongly about this, but this here was a decent, intelligent discussion, moreover it was mature and reasonable from both sides. I feel strongly against 1* popping too. But I know how to seperate the gamer from the person behind the screen. The two are not the same, and by insulting the person, you do the argument absolutely no favours.

I actually agree with Sick on this - and moogie your quote was taken a bit out of context. Read all of it, it was just a bit of comparison. When players make others feel like that and continue to advocate what they do to spite, further annoy, and fuel the other,...that's just wrong.

A bit off the subject - but anyway, - I know of another game similar to this; (mages,warriors,rouges,..so on, MMORPG) that allows mages (the only class with the teleport party member ability) to tp people who are joining their party (from the list of users on the server) while using a transformation scroll (allows you to assume the role of a mob and not be attacked by aggros). So, they sit and tp random people (even the highest lvl who lose UBER exp) into the middle of the strongest mobs in the game to their certain death. You want to talk about bodies, I've never seen more bodies (no PvP war, nothin, nothin ever came close) of dead players in my life. Then they sit and laugh at the 127 bodies they just created - (everyone cursing, screaming, shoutin' while 1 mage stands in the middle of all of it laughing).

Now, my point is - Just because it isn't coded into the game, - and, of course, the mages feel strongly about what their doing (gimmie a break), - should their whines about why they think it's right even be heard? I think not. Just because the current game didn't have a solution for this problem at that point in time, (i.e. allow transformed mages to be attacked by aggros-which was later implemented) should the whole community suffer for these few punks' entertainment? I'm bettin if you have common sense you would agree that - yes, a patch or whatever should be implemented to stop the foolishness. Remember this is people's time. Time away from anything they might do - career, schoolwork, even family. And when people start messing with that time, it does get personal. Call it flammin if you will. It does make the gamer and the person behide the cpu the same.

So,...Just because the game hasn't fixed it, and the few who enjoy doing it have found tons of ways to re-invent their argument on "why they think it's right", doesn't mean it should be done. It is cheating, - cheating people out of their precious time. Therefore it is with this, that I believe that 1*Pooping (lol pooping) should be outlawed - effective asap.

You know how you feel when your doing it, - you see the lowbies anguish, it makes you giggle, it makes you feel powerful, gives you that "rush",. but really people,.. there is a community to think about. Its not just a video game, - (Kung Fu, Duck Hunt, Grandtheft Auto are video games) it's an online community, and yes - it does affect people because they are dealing with real life people. Why give yourself bad names and then advocate it publicly? All wrong - is what that is.

If it's for the greater good of the whole, - it needs to happen. Patch It.

I dont get a kick out of people's suffering. I get loot, that's all. If it's the last of their gold, that's their problem. Never risk losing your last gold. It's possible to avoid poppers, people are just too lazy to do so and therefore complain when they get popped.

You seem to conviently forget what you have to do to get "their loot". Thats not all you do. Stop and think about it awhile.

P.S. refering back to the story I told you,..were those people just too lazy to lvl by themselves? So they shouldnt ever join a party for fear of instantly dying? Don't call innocent by-standards or lowbie merchants lazy because they're not happy with how your entertainment affects them.

People complain about losing their money mostly, so it's not the way we get it that pisses them off, it's simply the fact that we have it. Yes, they thought they were safe, but the second you step out of the safe zone with a job suit, you are at risk.

Sit them down in an internet cafe; that's when you separate the boys from the men. He'll go from flashing thumbs up to flashing the new york hello faster than you can say "gee whiz".

So in other words, "Do it because you can" thats all I'm hearing from you. Completely throw peoples feelings, time,...etc.. (and yes, gold) out the window. Just do it because no one can stop you yet. Who cares how you affect the few who do care about more than the "measly amount of gold" you steal.

Well, I don't find 1* popping fun. In fact it's pretty boring. I do however, find it to be a very effective way of porting with a full ox every time.

If everyone in the world care about everyone else's feelings, it'd be pretty boring wouldn't it?

From what I've experienced, trading is more profitable. If thats the case, let some people do 3* runs and have hunters to help.

This statement sums it all up, shows those peoples' true colors. Entertainment and boredom have different meanings to me, - enterainment does not = making others hate you. And you are all smart enough to KNOW thats what your doing. But thats me I guess.

Honestly, it makes me laugh my ass off when people get so worked up over a few digital pieces of gold. It's a game, don't take it too seriously.

It's actually fun when people call guildmates and we get a nice fight going.

What you need to realize is that its not just a game - its an online community. And I know people like you will never give up the fight (until they take away your fun and your the one whining) but it is like I said,

You KNOW how it affects some of the people in the community, and you continue to do it. That makes you a trouble maker and you should stick to "just a games" (i.e. - Sega Genesis).

It is a game though. I honestly don't care if they make it so 1* popping is impossible. You'll never find me whining about that. What pisses me off is people who think they should get free money just by walking from town to town killing a few things along the way.

I fortunately haven't had the 'pleasure' of being popped. This may have to do with the fact that I only traded when escorted by 64+ and always did 5 star. Actually, I did 1 star once, but it was boring and not very rewarding.

I have popped once or twice, mainly to see how to do it. I agree with what Moogie said and that's why I don't pop anymore... unless it's a guild I hate, or some stupid trash talking noob - in which case, I'm just doing it to kill them... I leave their stuff there

Here's a big big tip - when doing one star, always ALWAYS max out on the cheapest stuff you can afford. Also, if you're really scared of being popped, always take a horse and veer off the road. I know you can't really avoid the ferry, but normally only one of them is guarded - so simply take the other one. If you end up getting popped, quickly go back... there's a good chance none of your stuff would have been taken as poppers usually take only the expensive stuff and teleport when they're full on it. Anyways, hopes this helps make your experience a bit better. Good luck...

Also, I wouldn't generalize all poppers to be assholes in real life... the game allows for thieving in the first place. One star popping is a clever extension of that (well, it was clever when it was first used...). Thus, to say poppers are assholes can be extrapolated to you implying all thieves are assholes. I'm sure you know how rediculous that statement is.

actually if I read it correctly he was just quoting what cuchulainn or whatever said about himself, not calling all thieves assholes. Because there are those legitimate thieves out there playing the way their supposed to.

And by the way, the developers intended 1 star traders to be able to walk from town to town killing a few things along the way. Thats why that little messages pops up when you click on them,- which you completely disregard. Besides dont you think your working a hell of a lot less for that little bit of money by popping people 20 lvls below you than they are by doing all that walking?

You say they are lazy for not knowing, or going around - but actually the only lazy one is you. You see, your the only one bending the rules and pissin people off along the way to get ahead just because its quick and easy, - Your too lazy to thieve the way it was intended,. (2 star and above).

Oh and think about it, - was that money free? They didnt have to buy them goods/transports/pots etc...? I believe you over-looked that and your statement is false.

The Bottom Line is this: People are trying to have fun playin this game, people besides you and your fellow cohorts. And if your fun (or whatever you call it to mask it) has to come at the expense of others and all but completely robs them of their fun, thats just not good gamin.

The developers MAY have intended 1* to be completely immune and a surefire way to make money, but have they come out and said this? No they haven't, all claims that they have are simply your inferences of the game and it's mechanics.

Have you tried 1* popping? It's harder than it looks. I got maybe 30% of thief exp from popping, since I enjoy raping multistars much more. The point of thieving is to get things at the expense of others (what the hell else does a thief do, look sexy in black?) and your arguing that people shouldn't be gaining things at the expense of others is utter hypocrisy. You're essentially saying people shouldn't be allowed to rob at all.
