This game was created as a solo game. Party play, party mobs, Europeans, it never use to exist. All we had was Chinese going at it alone. For you to say its too solo orientated, its because thats the way the game was originally created.

That's the worst idea ever heard, just because you are one of those farmed, capped and in top guild... It's just a game, want to compete? go play some in real life...

If you just modify it a bit and allow players to set duels, like you right click on a player and duel, he than has 5(more?less) sec to accept or refuse, but if he don't respond within the time given it counts as yes. Of course this will affect legit afkers but since there will be no material profits (no looting) players will soon get bored with abusing the system and get back to killing regular botters instead of slaying afk players. As simple as that.

You say that the system you suggested is used widely, give some examples firs...

Regards

Too bad that the basic idea of Silkroad is, to get the best gear and you have one.
There is no skill needed if you are a full sosun botter to target a Lv7x legit player in npc gear and press 3241.
Your idea fails.

Trust me, i'll kill all your guild before they can lvl up to 70 to make a 8 man pt.

8 man pt < 8 sosun botters pt

Idioic idea. EVERYONE being able to kill without penalty would create chaos... People currently playing SRO do not play it for the open PvP PK system. The game does not market to that type of gamer.

IF this was implemented it would need serious limitations. You cannot attack lower level people unless they attack you first. That would be the fist basic rule because this game is totally gear + level dependant. I dont care about your teamwork idea, if you can not 1v1 then you would not survive in your planned world. Your idea about lvl80's would kill other 80's is a total myth, anyone with half a brain knows that they would immediatly target lower level people for free easy gold. Why risk everything unnecessarily.

Not to mention, once you die how the hell do you kill another? It'd be like real life in the sense 1 death = quit. If you could fight and kill someone without having gear your idea would be half plausible but wth.

Seriously, your idea stinks lol. It would never work and would bring about the end of this game within 2days.

Umm no, because they will look at the other 2900+ players and bots and think wow look at all that easy money.
I think you my friend need your own little server where you can run around and spawn little beasties to play with.

Edit:

Yeah ok, and what about the other 10? They will still go and kill everyone, so your argument is complete rubbish.

The kSRO pk system will fix most issues but lets see different ones.

(I'll be borrowing inspiration from runescape)

You can work on your system:
At every degree area there should be two types of zones, pk zones and non-pk zones. When you enter a pk zone your name turns red meaning kill or be killed. When you're name is red and you get killed in a pk zone you will keep all your gold your weapon your gear and the 3 most valuable items in your inventory, this only applies if you didn't kill anybody in the last 30 minutes. If you did kill someone, when you die/get killed everything you own is lootable except your gold weapon and gear. Basically the entire inventory is lootable after you kill someone. When you kill someone that didn't kill someone in the last 30 minutes you go into bandit mode and a skull&crossbones appear above your head. When someone in bandit mode is killed by someone not in bandit mode they do not go into bandit mode. This is basically an upgraded runescape pk system and you still get to keep your gear weapons and gold. When you kill a certain amount of people you become wanted and are pkable outside of the pk zones. When you become wanted and are killed by a hunter your wanted status clears and you drop a scroll. With this scroll the hunter can turn it in for a reward.

sound good?

EDIT:

Actually as you get closer to the true cap/skills we start to come to the realization that the game is meant to be played in a party. I mean even stealing hunting and trading requires a party.

meh too complicated. thing was to let players dump those that are ruining the game. therefore youll need to be able to kill anyone from certain level on (like 30), loot thing was there to allow to damage those players not only kill them with no meaning.
anyway im not trying to develop pk system for silkroad since it will never be put on use. this was more like idea to look what reactions it will bring from the forum inhabitants...so long i see they cant think outside the box

to all cant_work_stupid_idiotic_idea reactions: you say nothing new. reactions like this appear every time someone post about this system in environment where you cant loose anything upon death...and when the system is put in use suddenly those catastrophic scenarios never happen because most players are concerned more about the game and not about ruining the game for everyone else or there is always at least 50:50 ratio of those parties that are aligned good:evil therefore they fight among each other.
but im not expecting you will understand since you dont have any experiences from games like this. i was on your side of barricade like 6 years ago too, but then i started to realize what are those evil pk talking about when they suggest things like this : )

That's one nasty pointless idea, it would create more problems that what it'd solve. The penalties of being PKed would be really hard. Because of your sig, it seems you played EVE, and this idea is very related tot he PK system there. It may work for EVE, but not for SRO.

The only way this would work is if you could not murder anyone at a lower level than you.

The system won't work. The community is crap. Even if the community was a little better, I still doubt it would work. As for me, I'll try and kill anyone I see. If I'm bored or low on gold I would kill low levels the most because its an easy way to get rich. I'd camp their grind areas and kill them anywhere I can. If they zerk and try to get away, I'll zerk and chase after them. During the summer I'm online 10+ hours. Good luck leveling. Why would I do these things? Because I can.

This is a silkroad forum where people discuss silkroad ideas. No one said someone here can change anything, he was just talking about an idea he had for silkroad.

Sheesh.... You think no one should make threads about anything.

well go on...i doubt you would however piss off low levels from strong guild like avalon for example since you know that if you kill their lvl 40 for shitty 500k in gear they will get your ass killed from then on and youll loose much more. and thats how multiplayer games should work. teamwork is the name of the game.

I wouldn't care what guild they are from. Everyone if fair game. The most gold I've had is like 17mil. 500k is a lot to me lol. Also, because I'm killing low levels I can go there with npc gear. I don't care if I die because I'm only losing npc gear. However, if I did have some gear equipped thats worth some value, I can simply use a instant return scroll when things get rough. Furthermore, its not like I can't have teammates helping me out also.

The system wouldn't work.

U attack someone, he doesnt attack u back, only u turn pink. U go murderer if he's dead.

well ok then they will declare war on you and your teammates and you will see who will be last one standing...maybe you will suddenly realize you dont want to piss them off. but whatever im not trying to persuade people here to belive me. have your opinion i just dont agree with you and have different experiences from the past

So you could attack a bot nuker then stand in his aoe zone to make him pink, then kill him with no penalty?

I will when u stop acting like a kid and asking dumb question like can a bowman use ranged attack? Unless u dont know what a bow is.
In this case, u clearly know what an AOE nuke is capable of but still asking that question.

When did I ask if a bow was ranged?

I was asking if it had to be a direct attack or if inadvertant attacks such as AOE from a nuke also made the nuker pink.
