I'm looking for a mage class (race doesn't matter) who focusses on dealing damage and preferably no support, though I could cope with minor support. Some sort of newbie guide though nothing about race and classes were mentioned. Human side: Sorcerer - damage dealer GuideEnchanter - debuff + slight damage dealer + slight buffing GuideAkkan side: Rune officiator - debuff + damage dealer (extremely low defence compared to human mage classes as they can't wield a shield but has Response Intensified. GuideThose so called class guides are more like build discussion threads, so you are introduced to various builds that the specific class has. I would say not to worry much about builds because both stats and skills can be altered at will and it's not hard to restart a new character if you want to try a different class. What I think most important first is to get on the game and get used to the system. If you have any questions regarding the basics of this game, feel free to ask considered I've played this game for years, or you could post at Torment forums. Just wanted to add that melee classes normal attacks/slashes are AOE as well, which I think is frigging amazing. I'll add a screenshot of that later. Spoiler for melee AOE attacks, up to 5 targets.

What you should do is not let the client auto patch the because client is for official MY server. You should install the RYL v557, don't run it. Download and install the latest patch for Torment v712. After that, run the game. The client will autopatch for RYL Torment if any is required. If you're having problems with GameGuard, check this link.

Played RYL2 a while bacl, got to lvl 55 and quit because you always died in one hit no matter what class you were.
Rohan is the game for me though but Shaiya is great to (lvl 40 so far).
Downloading the RYL client right now but ill probably be an Akkan

0l3n wrote: Are the grafics as good as RYL2? And im guessing the gameplay is the same. Gameplay is the same but I think the graphics are not as good as RYL2. Other stuff like new enhancing system, new skills, dodging ability and top stat gears (eg. 260 con armor) kinda messed the nature of the game, so I prefer RYL1. AnemuS wrote: can i change the graphics at all? seems like not that great gfx yet :p Change the graphic setup by clicking setup before selecting server.

0l3n wrote: So that means you like dying? Not really lol, Misery Island is pretty quiet I have a quest that requires me to look for someone there anyways. AnemuS wrote: why cant i set a high settings? it defaults me back to middle, and says high cannot be set now O_o whats wrong , there is no high settings ? Yeah I had that problem as well, I just have mid settings and turn on everything to get the "highest" graphic setting. What you might want to do is to play RYL in higher resolution because screen these days are way bigger. If you do, check out this link. Personally I'm playing with 1280x800 because the resolution they have is just too small. I forgot to add a newbie guide for RYL Torment, just in case you haven't browsed their forums, which can be found here.
