They don't seem to do much to stop bots, even if the bot programers are fast of the mark and updates the bots to keep the cycle going (patch> update>crack>bot). It not hard to spot and track bots. Just look at the botter way points, standing on the same spot, moving along the same path for pots, repairs and to and from trainning area's etc. A simple line of code could catch the way points and if the bot programers started to set up random way points to reduce the tracking. Just check the amount of time a botter grinds for. Most grinders (in my view) would find it hard to grind 5 to 10+ hours aday let alone 10 to 24 hours. Some mite say account sharing, rubbish (just a few points will joymax enforce?): Quote: User shall not illegally use other's accounts.
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their own accounts and all relevant responsibilities attached to their accounts.
In cases users do not violate any rules or regulations, the Operations Team will not intervene disputes between users.
Account theft/hacking is defined as illegal appropriation or destruction of computerizes data sent or received. The hacking/account theft usually occurs by negligent management by the user of his own account information.
The Operations Team will not offer services regarding account theft/hacking for the time being for the purpose of providing better service in the future. Gold from (gold) botters is moved to and from accounts to sell in the millions and billions, transfers of large amount of gold could be tracked. Server side protection (vs bots) mite be a better option than client side detection as client side it to easy to crack. Its harder to crack code you don't have access to. Imho if they (joymax) can't stop the bots (I don't think they try as hard as they could and should) then removing the ill earned gains from those abusers would be justice served in my view (just 2 examples there could be many more)i.e: 1) A player bots for levels and comes back to find no EXP/SXP gain but loss of EXP/SXP even sets, items and gold gone 2) A player buys gold only to have it removed from their accounts. This would make most gold buying players think before buying gold. I bet most would charge back and could force prices of gold up The seller(s) mite be forced to leave this game due to the costs and or the options (being removed) to receive payment for gold

At least they are now acknowledging that they have a problem and are pretending to try and fix it, its the first step in joymax actually trying.

If Joymax was trying hard they'd fix the no-log-in disconnection, the numerous other bugs, off party clerics and the damned memory leak.
Joymax is NOT trying, unless you're referring to getting as much money as possible (Which is the point anyway..).

it would be so easy to block the gold bots with a ip ban, shows how hard they are working

OK!!! Finally someone that says it. If you hate the company and don't like the game, then quit and stop b1tching and whining like my 1 year old niece. (who I love, but good example.) Playing the game and b1tching about it is pretty retarded of you. Yes I agree that they could do a better job, but at least it's something, and most of the people that complain make it seem so bad. But if you look at other games, they have the same problem and it's on going. They just haven't found a suitable means yet. With clientless bots, theoretically all they really need to do is find people without a Gui. Other bots are a different story. Give them a ..... break already or quit play this "piece oh sh1t" game

To date I have yet to see or hear of another company milking flaws created by their own lazieness the way joymax has. I have played SRO since 2005 and I have quit it as well. Listen now listen well. What part of having to restart from the desktop every time the server is busy and joymax not fixing it over the last three years sounds like they are trying? How are they trying when they cant manage to ban 100 accounts a month when you could do it on your server name daily? What makes it seem like they are trying when most of their former staff speaks out against them. Not only that but many of them left because the company was specifically not trying. What part of the staff shrinking down to one antisocial employee in the US office sounds like trying. Joymax has never tried and never will. Joymax ignores their own rules. It does not matter how long you have played or whether you still currently do. Everyone is justified and within their rights to grief joymax 24/7

I didnt go through off of this thread, because im lazy and im tired and its too much to read due to that. However, what many fail to realize is that Joymax is NOT the only MMORPG having this problem, ALL, almost anyways of the MMORPG companies are haviing hacker/bot issues. They are all having troubles, you notice it if you go to one of the websites of the gold bots, hopefully I wont get in trouble but try goldceo.com. You get the list of games right there. I have played on another rpg for about 3 years, every time a bot patch and update came out, within hours to a few days, new bots were out. I hear GameGaurd isnt on, but if you think about it... if they turned it on and used it, you think bots really wouldnt happen? They would, hackers will find ways around it. You cant just blame joymax, other companies have this issue. I blame more the ones buying the gold, the gold farmers and places such as paypal, their hosting companies and such not wonder wtf is going on. Paypal, they likely violated their agreement, this would be almost as fraud, for making money off another company without their permission. I wonder if paypal would revoke their accts. The hosting companies and the domain, dunno much about the hosts but I wouldnt be suprised if they were violating those agreements too, and ten the domain, how much you wanna bet none of them are up to par with the icann agreement. Sometimes, i swear, we should run our own gold farming bots and sell 100mill gold for a buck. Be the gold farming dollar store, this would seriously run them all out of biz. But anyways, there are some legal things they could possibly do to stop this, but its a lot of work if there is only a few staffing and no one knows any legal info. I duno, last part was ranting thoughts, anyways, like I say, joymax is only one of a LOT of companies with bot problems and problems banning them. Wow, I type to much, going to bed

Why are people blaming gold bots? I'd be pointing the blame to the people who actually buy gold. Gold bot companies would not exist of people did not buy gold from them. People seem to raise prices because they know lots of people buy gold. They know they can sell it for more because of that fact. Forcing others to buy gold just to keep up with the market, should they actually want to buy semi-decent gear. Yes, I know there are ways to make gold easy the legit way, but for some it just doesn't seem to work Anyway, all I am saying is that people seem to be pointing fingers 100% at Joymax, yet forget who the real people Farking up this game are.

if you go to one of the goldbotter sites, goldceo.com for example, you will notice the list of games on the left menu. Wow, is included for EU and US servers. They are selling gold from there, so they must be bottiing pretty hard.
MANY games having this problem, I dont think anyone has been able to find a good solution. Soon as you change the programming, within hours a new bot will be created to take over. If you turn on gamegard (I hear its not on possibly) it wont take long for a hacker to find a way around it.
I am a vidster on another game, we review bot videos and recommend with 2 or more vidsters approvals to "botjail" botters. Ive seen how quickly new programs come out. They have put in a new, patch that would block the bots and within 2-72 hours, new ones are there. They have bots for leveling, plvln, and various attack bots, speeding as well.
Its not as easy as some people may think. They do however, need more GMs on the servers, this takes money that they may not be willing to spend.

People can play for free whenever they want to. If the service is bad customers can simply say "its free so i can;t complain". Thats the difference between free and p2p mmo's. One needs customer support to survive, one doesn't.

They only ban bots when there is an update/cap increase happening to draw in new fish they have been using the same tactics the past two years.
