Well, it's not that im with joymax but they cant be that stupid to actually ban legit players, there got to be some reason or something that these people are getting a block eve when it doesnt actually show the reason of the ban.
What i noticed in that people who got banned is that:
-Most of them are plvlers or got plvled -Most of them stall (Maybe use a MC or running on same IP? (I think this is stupid)) -Most of them dont have Avatar suit (Meaning they havent bought silk ever) -Most of them swear they are not bots (Probably not true) -Been inactive for a long period -Playing on net cafes (Everyone connecting from same IP)
IMHO i think the 3rd option is the main reason for a ban.
Discuss, please dont flame and keep topic clean.
EDIT: Added 4th option EDIT 2: Added 5th option

The first reason is ignorance. It's been proven even people who buy silk get banned. Also just because you don't have an avatar suit doesn't mean you haven't bought silk. I have bought plenty of silk and I haven't wasted a single one on those avatar suits. Second accusing people of botting is totally out of line. Unless you have proof that someone who swears they don't bot bot's shut your trap. I swear I don't bot! (this is the part where you say its probably not true)

What im trying to say is that you cant actually know if people are telling the truth or not, and about you calling "ignorance" the 1st option please notice gold bots dont buy avatar, what i was trying to express is that those that dont have avatar might aswell havent bought silk never. Im not accusing anyone of bot, try read better next time.

It must be random. I never botet with mine, comon it was only lvl 18. I dont use MC I have 2 pc, why the hell would I risk to be banned. I know few people 70+never killed mob pwl all the time, no ban. I have friend 88 lvl 24/7 bot dont have silk and he isnt banned. So looks like they random ban low lvl stall character to hurt higher lvl players.

Just to clear things up im not saying you might or got banned for any of those reasons, this thread was made to look for something that links all those people that sadly or deserved a ban were banned for.
As seen on previous answers theres people that dont have avatar suits but are still around, people that use same IP and still around and people that know bots and still around, those people might have bought silk sometime, i still think there got to be a reason i highly doubt it is random, but thats just my opinion.

Then only reason can be 2 IP which are same, that I have home pc and laptop.

also, i noticed that most of the lower lvl noobies are the ones with a new account. i have stallers that are 3 yrs old and never got banned. But of my firends who made their stallers couple months ago are now banned. so joymax is paying attention closely toward new accounts.

They ban bots / MC users / NoDc client users , and maybe someone gets banned by inattention of JM.
Period.

My staller uses the same ip (wireless), has never bought silk, is logged in 24/7, and even uses the old 90 cap client that doesn't disconnect you, hasn't been banned. Although I do transfer all my gold to my main every monday night...

Weird huh?

i dont feel like reading a pointless topic.. but..
Most of them stall (Maybe use a MC or running on same IP? (I think this is stupid))
if u think its stupid why did u think of it
btw the only reason why every one gets banned cause they are using a clientless program
end of topic kthxbai

Period. I agree they banned about 400 people on Mercury and probaably 20-30 are totally legit. Mistake, but that mistake costed me a loooot of money.

I created a character about 2 weeks ago which I made to level with my friend for FUN. I did not use the character to stall, did not bot or use third-party programs (I'm on a Mac so that's out of the question anyway), was never inactive and I didn't even PK2 edit for that matter. It was just a character I made for the sole purpose of party grinding with my friends a few hours a day. The only thing I'm guilty of is not buying silk. And if that's Joymax's reason for banning my character then I'm not sure I'd like to continue playing this game.
Maybe the secretly made some sort of "trial" for the game. If you don't buy silk after the trial is over you get banned, lol. o,O

That does alter the game so it works on Macs. Maybe Joymax was able to tell somehow the game was altered and banned you. And the fact that they seem to be payiing most attention to newest accounts.

And the fact that they seem to be payiing most attention to newest accounts. CrossOver Games is just a virtual environment that allows PC games to be playable on Macs. It does not alter the client data in any way other than making a mini-XP environment inside my Mac so that Silkroad could run in. But I also play with my other accounts here which I have bought silk for before and they're not banned or anything.

it could be that joymax just made a huge mistake. they're obviously using some sorta program to track the goldbots.

i would like to know why syko got banned i'm mad about that, i know for a fact that kid never botted, his highest lvl charector wasa 52 wiz taht was party grinded, i've been with him since before we played sro, he's followed me to 3 servers, and other then his wiz he never got above 39, almost same story with my alt account it only ever had a lvl 37 as its highest and i never played it much, but i had been on it a few weeks before the ban, so i'm not sure they'd ban for inactivity if it got used again would they even if it did have a several months not being used, i'm glad to see jm start banning by how come non botters like me and syko get banned yet people can still global that they bot and never get banned
